Wahoo

I am getting on a plane to go to Monterey and San Fran for a whole week.

I did bring a ton of running stuff, so if any Bters know any good trails or want to run let me know.

Going to play golf at Spyglass one day (couldnt fork out the 450 to play Pebble Beach, when I am saving for new wheels for my tri bike) and going to get drunk one day in Napa.

Should be fun,

I have ran in the Golden Gate Park and along the Great Highway. Very nice. That's the only recommendation I have.

Couple places in Monterrey/pebble/Carmel - nice running at Point Lobos state park on one just south of Carmel. Garland national park has some good hiking and/or running trailst. 17 mile drive is a nice run, and jsut barely south of monterrery, (from Cannery Row) is a nice ocean run/trail/path.

There's only one trail you need to know about for a dream trip like this, and that is the Silverado Trail in Napa. It's a collection of 35 large and small wineries. You don't run it, you drink your way through it. I had a similar agenda about 3 years ago - stayed in SF, played in Napa for a couple of days, then drove to Pebble. Couldn't get on there so we settled for lunch in the clubhouse overlooking the 18th green, then played Spanish Bay. Enjoy.

Yes, let's please keep all the tourist over in Napa County.

Take a jaunt through GG park, and maybe along The Great Highway (Hwy 1 as it goes along the ocean in SF).  Pretty much anywhere in Monterey is beautiful.  Head over to Pacific Grove (just south) and run along the shoreline (that's where they do the PG tri in Sept).

Mostly, though, just have a great time!  And welcome to our beautiful state.  If you're in the North Bay Area, and want some more specific info, send me a PM and I'll help ya out.

From Berkeley (across the bay from SF) so if you have any questions drop them on by! I run in SF a lot, and you can't really go wrong. I'm fond of running from the Presidio at the Golden Gate, along the Embarcadero to the most beautiful ballpark I've ever seen!!

Have a great time!!!

Dana
