For all you mountain bikers out there,
Since I got my tri-bike this year, I'm now used to riding with clipless pedals. I do a lot of mountain biking in the winter and my pedals with toe-clips, need to be upgraded. Any brands/models that anyone could recommend for shoes and pedals? I'm looking for something very durable for single-track, trail-riding and I want to be able to clip in and out pretty quickly, since I fall a lot more on my mountain bike, than my tri bike. Thanks,

Derek

Also, just another note. I'm not looking for anything super lightweight or fancy. I have a 3-year old Specialized Rockhopper, so it already weighs a ton and really light pedals won't make much of a difference.

I have SPD pedals with a platform (forget the model number).  I like them a lot, just started usign them this summer in CO, and now in PA.  I don't have any troubles with them, they are set super loose, and I havn't yet fallen due to being clipped in...that is, not being able to unclip when I DO fall (which is somewhat frequent when I'm riding with peole better than me!)

Some of my other friends use SPD's that also have a platform, which gives a little extra security if you have to get restarted during a more technical/downhill section.

DrLeah,
What do you mean, when the pedals have a platform? I'm pretty new to this.
