Well the winner should be coming to the finish in the next hour or so, with the brutal bike and the hills in the run, anyone want to guess on the fastes time or the average speed on the bike ??

Headed over to the finish in just a few minutes, will give a re-cap when I get back.

Why?

Mostly due to the bike, about 9,000 ft of climbing and it is an A to B race with about 1,200 ft of total elevation gain.

The run course is definately not flat, I don't have specifics on it.

My regular runs are on the couse they used for the run, the hills aren't brutal but you definately know your going up hill. This is a guess but about 3.5 to 4 miles of pretty good up hill each loop.

It definitely does look like a very tough course! Did Dave Scott do Lanzarote? About 8370' of climbing, but not quite the 9000'....

My friend did this race and got picked up by the sag wagon at mile 70 on the bike.  The avg bike time was over 7 hours!

she also said that 40% or so of the participants DNF'd!

If I understood the course description I think that was before the really bad hills.
