Anyone have a hotel recommendation for IM Coeur d'Alene?  As expected, the race hotel is sold out...

There's a La Quinta Inn & Suites just 10-15 minutes from the race site.  I booked a room with a kitchenette a few weeks ago and they still had availability.  The price wasn't bad either ($159 I think...don't remember for sure and my confirmation is at the office).

Here is the thread in the Ironman Forum:

I have a room booked at the Fairfield Inn, but since Oldag92 has a kitchenette I will spend most of my time in his room eating

I stayed at the Best Western on Appleway, it is about 2 or 3 miles from the city center. It was a nice place, and a lot cheaper than the host hotel.

The Best Western had a 5 day minimum stay, and required 1 day non-refundable deposit upfront. It was pretty quiet, despite being close to I95. There was a pool which I made good use of the day after the event.

Some friends who drove out to spectate stayed at a Holiday Inn Express in Hayden, which is a 10 or 15 minutes north of CdA. That was a very nice place, since it was brand new. The double room had an extra sitting area with a couch, so if you have a family in tow, you might like the extra space.

I stayed in the KOA in my camper just outside of town.  Lots of other IM'ers there too.  Very cheap!

Hello-

Check out www.coeurdalenechamber.com or call the CDA Chamber at 208-664-3194. I am doing IMCDA for the first time and am a resident. I was also part of the group who helped get it here, so I will help in anyway possible. Just drop a line. See ya in June.

You can search the chamber website for hotels.

I stayed at the Days Inn just off the highway and an easy five mintues from the race headquarters. Way cheaper than the downtown places and there are a few chain hotels nearby as well. ALL the hotels will be packed with IM'ers so it is easy to carpool down to the start race morning...

Have fun, it is a great race.
