Well I just ordered my winter running gear. I've heard good things about the Under Armour winter gear around here. The only issue I have is, will people think I'm trying to rob them (or maybe a ninja!). I also will need reflectors if/when I run at night or early in the am. What does everyone think?

Hmmm ... Black Spandex Man has a double is Sun Valley, ID?

Word to the wise: given that it stays dark late and gets dark early, you will definitely need something to enable the drivers to see you. Just recently we had a marathoner struck and killed by a driver who just plain did not see her.

Given the fact that is known to get cold up there, hopefully the layering ought not to be a problem!

haha...I look the same as you. Only, I don't have the dark hood thing yet. Good luck and be safe running at night. You might want to get something reflective to wear. There's another thread that was active a week or two ago about the things other BTers do and wear to make sure they're seen at night. For the life of me, I can't remember what the subject line read.

So I can't find any post about reflective gear for running and night. Also anyone know of any good gloves for cold weather running. Something not as bulky as regular snow boarding gloves. Also will be holding a leesh from time to time to run/walk with the dog.

Nike makes a great pair for around $15.

Nice gloves. EXACTLY what I was looking for. Any more info about those. Name of glove or link to a location. I search for 'nike glove' and get way to much stuff and none of it what I want.

Go to this thread , click on the Road Runner Sports banner, and you'll get 10% off your order for being a BT member. If you do a search on "gloves" you'll find something there that'll suit.

Love my underarmour Winter Gear! It's GREAT stuff! You might consider colors other than black though... that could help with visibility. Also, from you LRS you should be able to get a refective waistband or vest ot wear over the gear!

Happy winter running. Used to live in MN -- You sure could tell who were the dedicated (or crazy) runners were. They were the one's running outside in -5 degree's F at 6:30 in the morning! (I've logged many miles in sub 10 degree weather at 6:30 in the morning) -- It's great!

Have a great winter training season!

Thanks for all the help. Have everything ordered. I'd go another color than black, but where I got my deal thats all they had, black or CAMO! No thanks on camo. I'll be sure to take a All Black Latex Ninja picture when it all comes!

That's awesome stuff - I swear by underarmour and actually bought some for wearing under my duck hunting waders this season. One thing I do, because I'm out running early in the morning in the dark, is to use a pair of my bike lights with the rear clip on the rear of my fuel belt. You can be seen for about 1/2 a mile.

Sun Valley? I used to live there! Do you work for "The Company"?

The nice thing about black ninja gear is, all you have to do is add a little color on top and you won't look so scary. Get a red running vest or a yellow headband and you'll be fine. Accessorize, man, accessorize!

Good stuff. You'll be happy. Get a reflective vest of something similar for monrings and evenings.

P.S. I'm 3/4 ninja.

Any good req's for a pant that isn't a legging?  I have enought time dealing with spandex shorts... I'd rather not submit myself to all over spandex!  (A fellow BTer once said, "I believe spandex makes you look worse than you would naked.".
