Second only to the NY YANKEES!!!!

Boston 5 1 .833

Toronto 3 3 .500

Baltimore 3 4 .429

Tampa Bay 3 4 .429

NY Yankees 2 4 .333

Home field opening day, Red Sox in first, Yankees in last - I think it's a perfect day.

Hey, the Boston Red Sox (greatest baseball team EVER EVER EVER!) are playing the loser Tampa Bay Devil Rays at 1:15pm on race day.

I want to go to the game.  Gonna buy tickets within the next couple of days.  Anyone wanna go with me?

They also have two night games (Fri/Sat) but somehow I decided a baseball game the night before a race would be a bad idea.  So that left Sunday....

In 2003 I watched the D-Rays play the Orioles on the Friday evening of race weekend.  Attendance was pathetic.  We bought two really good seats from a season ticket holder the evening of the game.  Make sure you bring something warm to wear.  They crank the AC like there are 30,000 people in there.  There were about 2,000 people the night we went.  It was freezing!!!!!

GO RED SOX!!!!

I may be in NY, but I hate the Yankees.

Oh, so the fact that they crushed your Yankees after being down 3 games to 1, a feat that had never been done in the history of MLB is NOTHING?  My bad.

Sore loser!

Funny I dont sound sore....But if you need validation on the comeback I wont argue. Im glad you have something to be proud of....You should also be proud of the fact that if you want to compare the Sawx with anyone it should be the Florida Marlins, they have 2 World Series victories also....

Anyway Im only busting so please dont take me seriously...I'll buy you a beer after the race. See you in down there.

Oh, It's something all right.

But it's still only the second time in 86 years. If they win 24 more times in the next 86 years then we can talk.

That aside, granted, we are (you are all) athletes, but I'm just wondering ... anyone up for cigars?  The good kind?  I'm gonna drag some along, just in case, but would hate for anyone to be left out.

Offer's good for *ahem* co^ankee fans. 'Scuse me!!! Laughing  Money mouth

Thanks for the offer of the cigars. I am not a smoker but for some odd reason I like the way they smell. Reminds me of our fresh, crisp NYC air.

Um ... has anyone seen the water temp as of late?  The weather buoy outside of St. Pete is apparently down, but according to the NOAA weather report the bay water temp is 76* today ...

Alrighty then. I am going to have to start lighting some candles so that the weather maintains and doesn't get any warmer. I REALLY, REALLY would like to wear my wetsuit. I'm trying to make it as hard as possible to drown.

Last year it was just under the cutoff temp.  If I recall the pro cutoff is different, and it was over their mark by 1/2 a degree.

I'll take it and I'm ready for it, wetsuit or no wetsuit.

TECH GEEK ALERT!!!  Ron, MD, since a lot of races repeat themselves year after year, can we have a new thread for each race so we dont' read last year's stuff again this year?    I just figgered out this Nexus thing.

Not sure if you need the votes but you have one from me as well. It would be nice to have a fresh thread for the 2007 race....that is if I can get registered in about 10 minutes!

Michael

EDIT: Or...should I say now that I am registered....gave it a try about 10 minutes early and it worked! YIPPEE
