Sweetie wants some workout clothes and gym bag for christmas. Suggestions and thoughts would be great. She is not what I would call hard core, she completed one sprint last year and has designs on an OLY next season, but we won't see her braving the bike/running path in these coldest months so I don't think that the ultra cold weather stuff is going to be necessary, though once it gets above freezing and isn't quite as sloppy she will be back outside. Thank you.

Target carries a line of dri-fit clothes by Champion, I think. Pretty fashionable and affordable stuff to go with the functionality.

I like the C9 by Champion gear at Target. Cheap and decent quality.

Go to TJ Maxx or Marshall's and flip through the ACTIVEWEAR section... you will find NIKE, Adidas, Reebok and other name brands at a DEEP DEEP discount! Most of the stuff is from a season or two ago, but quite frankly I don't think that matters! Most of my training clothes come from there, and I love it!

In fact, just today, I bought a Nike sports bra (12.99) a Champion long top with built in bra (14.99) an Adidas sweatshirt with hood (24.99) a pair of "warm up" pants (9.99) and a cute pair of Nike running shoes with a PINK swoosh! (29.99)  It just doesn't get any better than that!

Tongue out

I'm modeling a C9 shirt in my avatar. Great lightweight shirt! And, speed demon TH3_FRB has also endorsed the C9 line. For females my wife also has that stuff amongst her extensive collection of workout gear.

I also have a few C9 shirts that I love.

oh..and I like to get bike gloves, or cutesy cycling socks too. And if she doesn't have one - get her a HR monitor. That was one of the best presents I've gotten all year - it really motivated me to give this thing my all.

Definitely check out the dry fit apparel at Target!!  I just bought 2 really cute dry fit shirts, with a 1/2 zipper in the front.  And the best feature- the long sleeves with the thumb hole.  There's a picture of me wearing my purple one in my Kiawah Island 1/2 marathon photo album.  I absolutely love it and it was on sale for $17.99.

And- a woman athlete can never have too many sports bras if you ask me, so that's a good option as well.

Also just checking online it would seem that the only color available is purple, have you seen it in other colors? Just want to check before I decide to actually brave the outside world.

Ha! This thread made me go to target last night and I spent way too much on new workout gear, AND I bought that exact top but in Orange. They were having a nice little sale on C9 stuff too, so I picked up a few things.

The also had red and lime green for those shirts.

Oh yeah- I think I got those pants at Sports Authority last year.  The brand of them is HEAD.  They are extremely comfortable and the lenghth is perfect for me- they hit right at the ankle.

Great- now I'm going to have to stop at Target too!  I live 5 mins. from Target, so I pass it all the time.  I must resist...I must resist...
