Spent the last 6 months building a solid base.  I had no idea what I was getting into, but truly enjoying it.

haha...you'll be laughing come race day if you've been base training for the past 6 months. I did my first one on 4 weeks specific training, and very little base.

how's the bike fitness going? that's the key

Highwaydog and myself are training partners.  I had a head start on him but hit the terrible months of August and September - Major burn out. He has since blown past in someways.

Things kick off hard on January 1st for the next 8 months.  Putting in solid training and dropping the excess weight.

Big focus has been bike.  Hate the swimming but going through the motions.....   Running - if the knee holds up it'll all come together.

good to hear...hopefully this year is the year that it all comes together.

bike is huge...you can get by with minimal running if you're putting the miles in on the bike.

Had a pretty good last couple weeks for running and biking.  Piled on the swim early as my access to a pool was limited.  Found a bid diff in recovery time hiyying yje hot tub for just 10 minutes.  Also slept better after a late workout.  May have to seriously consider it for next year if I decide to maintain this lifestyle.

I first looked at the training schedule, and thought that's all I have to do right now! HA! well add life in and I am struggling to meet daily workouts, not because of the physical demand but balancing work and finishing grad school. It truly is a lifestyle change... I'll get there though, no doubt about it
