Run
Comments: The run went pretty well. There was a lot of standing water to dodge, but I managed it. Hit mile two and my timer said 16:57, so I knew I was making great time. I had to reign myself in some since I have a marathon next weekend. What would you do differently?: Nothing. The run went great! Oh, maybe not include The Doors' "Light My Fire" in the playlist. That is one long-ass song! Fortunately it finished and "Unbelievable" ran me in. Great song to finish a race to. Post race
Warm down: waited by the finish line for Roy and cheered in other runners and crazy people. Had a hot cocoa and some cranberry bread and juice. What limited your ability to perform faster: Held myself back a bit. I think I could have knocked a few minutes off if I weren't tapering. Event comments: Fun race and what a GREAT way to start a new year! While I ran I thought about what 2006 will have to bring to me, what I wanted to take from 2005 into 2006, and what things I'm thankful for. I will definitely do this race again next year. Enjoyed a nice breakfast cookie and half a cup of coffee for breakfast. Put together a positive playlist to motivate me on my first race of the new year.
Stretched out quite a bit because I've been a little stiff the last few days.
