Lara, I think that you answered your own question when you said "I rode the ocr3 and it felt great!!!!! the ocr2 has the shimano 105 components..." and also when you said "K2 mach 3.0. felt good but not as good as the ocr3...". The OCR2 comes with a 105 derailler and the rest of the components are Tiagra and generic hubs. Nonetheless, it is an excellent bike and does come with the Shimano M505 pedals which I think are great. The K2 might be a good bike also but you will definitely not be happy with that one so count that one out already. The Scattante is impressive with Ultegra components, a good frame, a carbon fork, even a Selle Italia saddle. But sometimes, the deciding factor in purchasing a bike is not simply based on components but on how the bike feels to you personnally. Test ride a Scattante in your size and then decide.

Finding that a bike feels natural...like it was an extension of yourself and bonding with it is possible and you needn't seek help for it. You've discovered the joy of riding a "real" bike as opposed to a Walmart variety toy bike. Welcome to the ranks of the initiated Lara.

I have to say that when I was looking at bikes a few months ago, I was concerned about the biles that had double cranks.  I need all the gears I can get on the hills!

I bought a Felt F50 which I have been really happy with.....just thought I'd make your decision a little more complicated

definately get a triple. I insisted on that when I bought my bike, even tho everyone tried to talk me out of it. At the time, I was brand new to road bikes and new I'd need every gear option available. I've used the smallest ring more than once, even tho I don't any more. Next bike will be a double, but I sure was glad my first one was a triple.

Lara you don't need a triple chain ring !! its very heavy and it won't be anytime before you are not using it. buy a bike that fits you and stick to the double chain ring.

very heavy?? we're talking grams here right? how many grams qualifies as very heavy??

ok, according to the Nashbar catalog that arrived yesterday, the Shimano 105 double crank weighs in at 628 grams, while the triple weighs in at 703 grams.  A difference of 75 grams.  For us in the US that's equal to 2.6455471 ounces.  For the Ultegra the difference is even less, 57 grams.

Lara,
The only product I can comment on is the Giant. I have an OCR1 and love it. It has all shimano 105 and a triple chain ring. It rides very nice and I have only one negative. Not made in the USA. Besides that, no regrets on my Giant. Certainly a good bike for the price.
