Registered, booked room, reserved SUV to tote my junk. Who's in?

Holiday Inn is already out of non-smoking rooms with 2 queen/full as of yesterday. Got a king with a pull-out couch.

I will admit, I was drooling into my keyboard at their site just yesterday, even as I am still walking funny from the half marathon. For some people it's bike p0rn, for me it's race sites. It can get ugly. ("Elevation chart, elevation chart! For the love of all that is good, there MUST be a link to an elevation chart around here somewhere...")

But unless someone wants to send me a winning enough lotto ticket that I don't hafta be a lawyer any more, I won't be training enough accomplish something like this in June '06. So... who's in for 2007? And female? Sigh.

But I'll throw in some free peer pressure for Joe: do it! do it! do it!

*ahem*

Um, Bill....if you are traveling all the way to Lubbock, renting an SUV, etc., etc., why don't you just keep driving north and west and meet me in Idaho that weekend??

After all, isn't 140.6 twice as fun as 70.3??

Uhhh...huh huh...huh huh......yeah I guess it is. Is Idaho really any further away than Lubbock? Really I'm more concerned about the base training volume than the race distance. It's my day to day training that poses more risk for an early end to my season (again), so I'm figuring half the volume = half the risk. That said, if I can get a good injury-free season in I'll be ready for an IM soon.

Well, as stupid as this may sound considering I haven't even done my first one yet, I was thinking about registering for IMAZ 2007 as soon as registration opens.  It is an easy place to travel to via Phoenix, and the early date makes for much cooler training here in Texas during the fall and winter months.   Have you decided where you want to do the IM yet?

Bill, I'm gonna go ahead and commit to this one.

I'm sure some of those bookings will get cancelled between now and then so I'll see about a room later.

I'll get with you and we'll figure something out.

Now I need to book a hotel room.

I booked a room today at the Holiday Inn.  They still had non-smoking with king bed.

Glad to hear you did it and you're coming back for more! This will be my first 1/2 IM. I have the same room deal at the Holiday Inn. See you there!

I've got several friends in Lubbock. If anyone needs a place to crash let me know and I should be able to set you up with a free place.
