Comments:

took a very conservative strategy and walked a little too much early in the lasy 8 miles which made it difficult to run later on. It was a long race and I'll be happy if I can train tommorow.
What would you do differently?:

Run the downhills early in the 8 mile strectch before I got cold and stiff. I would also bring Na tabs I got a little hyponatremic.

Event comments:

Great distance race with a resposive and sincere race director. Aid stations have everything you could want. IT's an odd distance with some challenging hills but it's well supported and a lot of fun.

HOLY COW!!!!! Thats a long run.

Congrats on your ultra finish!

How did they decide on 38.5 miles? Was it trails, road, or both?

The distance was functional, they shuttled you way out in the desert and then you ran back through one town and into the next. It was a lot of fun now that my legs don't hurt anymore It was all country raods through New Mexico hill country
