Subject: RE: Newbiedoo is in the building!!! the bear - 2006-01-18 9:56 AM newbiedoo - 2006-01-18 9:45 AM ....and pedantic too! Ok, cranky old lady then. Is Be-otch on Wheels taken? Are you qualified? It's always been my humble opinion that people who use the word "pedantic" are, well, pedantic. For the sake of accuracy I retract my queery about the moniker for two reasons: the B word suggests a formidable figure, and wheels suggest action. So, no Bear, I do not deserve it. I was feeling pretty spunky this morning, and was gettin' too big for my breeches missy! I can think of other things to call myself, but I think I'd dismay the cheerful extroverts and it's just downright sad to see them like that! When I asked if someone would correct my spelling, well, I didn't actually expect anyone to take me up on it. So I decided to rib you back with pedantic. Clearly, my jokes were not understood - but that's nothing new. However, in my humble opinion, I think you are dismissing a perfectly good word by generalizing about the character of those who might use it. As a high school drop out, and as a ditzy college student who didn't know she was graduating with honors until two weeks before commencement, I doubt I'm the type to be described as that persnikity. Did I spell that right? Should I run spell check? Oh well, as standup comics say, k's are funny. |
