Skiing speed events - I see either a gold medal or a spectacular crash (a la Herman Meier in '98 going OVER the safety fencing) for Bode.

Short Track Speed Skating - Can the Aussie guy repeat his strategy of staying in last place, waiting for everyone else to wipe out and then coast in for the gold?

& the opening & closing ceremonies

The winter Olympics is just a big HOCKEY tournament that comes every 4 years right?

I like any time/distance events. No the judged ones.
Faster, or farther = no question who won.
I'll watch all I can.

Wookiee - 2006-01-20 8:39 PM Personally I love the coverage by CBC - every sport no matter how obscure gets covered. What I hate is when we (Canadians) have to analyse to death the hockey teams that we have sent to the Olympics.

Me too. I even considered planning a vacation "home" to Saskatchewan so I could watch. I enjoy it all!

Ya gotta luv a country when breaking news is the live announcement of the Olympic hockey team.

robbertcj - 2006-01-22 4:23 PM Curling did not make the cut for NBC, but they will be showing some on USA and CNBC. I think it will be on Feb. 13 and Feb. 22. Me and my basic cable are going to miss all the good stuff. SWEEP HAAAARD

Oh that's weak.  I just saw a commerecial the other day and in showed these curlers going nuts after... uh, a good curl I guess... trying to hype it up.  And now it won't even make it...

I'll be glued to the TV during the Games...well, at least on the bike trainer while I'm watching as much as possible.

Gotta love skiing...Bode, Darren, and Jeremy should all have a shot at hardware.  Hockey of course...hope it comes down to US vs Canada again!  Speed skating, long and short track...hope Apolo can repeat.  And figure skating might, just might, be less controversial with a new scoring system and one less French judge around.  The Winter Olympics are ALL good!
