Seattle Bike Expo includes TRIATHLON ZONE AND PRESENTATIONS
SEATTLE - 10,000 bicycle enthusiasts are expected at Hangar 27 at Warren G. Magnuson Park in Seattle, Wash. to participate in Cascade Bicycle Club’s 18th Annual Group Heath Seattle International Bicycle Expo. With more than 150 exhibitors of bikes, gear, travel, health and fitness, the bicycle expo is one of the largest collections of bike businesses and organizations in the country. It will be open to the public on Saturday, February 18 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday February 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission tickets are available for $8 per adult at the door. Kids 15 and under are free.
Nationally recognized guests at this year’s Group Heath Seattle International Bicycle Expo include ;
Irish cycling legend, Sean Kelly; America's first "star" of pro cycling, Davis Phinney; Noted cycling coach and author, Joe Friel; triathlon legend, Sally Edwards , 75-year-old Ironman Triathlon world record holder, Sister Madonna Buder; Northwest BMX Stunt Team and “Bicycle” author, David Herlihy. Additional Expo activities include the Ballard Camera photo contest, test ride area, classic bike shows, Youth Zone!, Triathlon Zone sponsored by Computrainer, and the 2006 Expo Gala.
Triathlon Vendors coming to the Expo include: REI, Raise the Bar, USA Triathlon, Washington Sports Massage Team, Triumph Multisport, Computrainer, Team Danskin Training, Budu Racing, Speedy Reedy, Cycle University, FSA, and others.
The Group Heath Seattle International Bicycle Expo’s Youth Zone!, offering free bike training and entertainment, will be held in Hangar 30 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday only, February 18.
The 2006 Expo Gala fundraising event to support Cascade Bicycle Club will be held on Saturday, February 18 from 7:30-10:30 p.m. at the Magnusan Park Theater. Exclusive presentations from some of the biggest names in cycling and a meet and greet session highlight the evening. Guests must be 21 with ID. Expo Gala tickets are available for $20 at the door or $18 in advance at www.brownpapertickets.com or 1-800-838-3006.
The Seattle International Bicycle Expo has been produced by Cascade Bicycle Club since 1988. Cascade Bicycle Club is a non-profit organization based in Seattle, Washington and serves 6,000 members and the Puget Sound bicycling community.
