What is your longest trainer ride???

Had a few other 5 hour rides before that. Why on the trainer? Cuz Michigan weather SUX!!!!!! I watched (per my training log): 2 hrs- Spinerval (Have Mercy) I don't even remember what Unstoppable was (is?)?

molto veloce mama 9311  | Subject: RE: What is your longest trainer ride??? wow. that's long. i did nearly 90 mins yesterday and it was fun. i owe it all to 'workouts in a binder for indoor cycling' - so i mention these books enough (the other is 'swim workouts in a binder' LOVE IT!). honestly, i've been looking forward to my trainer time lately! its either the binder/nano combination, or i've lost my mind (or both). i can't watch tv or movies because our wind trainer is so flippin' loud. plus, i do better with just music. |

If my ride is longer that 1hr (my longest spinnerval) I do combinations of them to get my total time. TV and music dosent keep me interested but for whatever reason I can ride forever with coach Troy! |

90 minutes is the longest and I agree, it's a mental challenge to watch tv and ride, so I mostly do spinnervals. Last night did 60 minutes while watching Pirates of the Carribean and did decending intervals of 5 minutes down to 1 minute with 1 minute rest between. That kept it somewhat more interesting that I had to watch the dvd counter. |

You do realize that 20 miles on the trainer is roughly the same as 24-26 miles on the road don't you? |

Yes, I did ride 5.5 hours this past Saturday on my trainer, but my personal record is 8 hours, which was the day hurricane Rita hit. I was training for my 24 hr ride and had to get some riding in. I was supposed to be on a 200 mile ride that day, but there was no way I was sitting on the trainer for over 10 hours. At 8, I called it quits. My coach laughed when I told him. |
