spriite - 2006-03-05 5:44 PM Hey guys.  So I was planning on doing the Parris Island Tri since I'm in Charleston for six weeks, however I don't have my bike with me (its sitting in Alaska).  The local bike shop here apparently doesn't have any of their rental bikes in yet.  Is there a place in Beaufort that rents non-street cruiser bikes? Thanks.  Hopefully I'll see you all there.

What size bike do you need? I've got a 54 LeMond road bike that I'm not using if that will fit.
btw if you're not registered you'd better hurry. Less than 50 slots remaining.

OK girls, the cracker to the rescue. The absolute best sand gnat repellent is Avon Skin So Soft.  Apply liberally. Janelle the red bugs are thick in any spanish moss and in most pine straw. Every time I see a touron gathering some spanish moss I just chuckle.

Once red bugs ( Beaufort's chigger variety) get under your skin you can get temp relief by rinsing affected area with hot water. A good salt water swim works wonders but it's a little chilly for that. Avoidance is the best cure.

What are the eisde affects from these little critters?  From what I remember, it was just a little itchy for awhile.  Nothing big.  No permenant damage that I know of

Substantial hair loss. Aversion to the color pink. Some report inability to find suitable companionship for social life. (OMG have I stirred up a hornets nest or what) Look forward to seeing your beautiful smiling face next Friday Janelle.

Hey I'm planning to put a poster or banner up at the Crackhead Inn Day's Inn with my contact info and maybe SAGoddess's info if she wants. Just so you guys can check in and we can get together . I have a big sex orgy planned Thought we'd have dinner or coffee, or go to packet pick up or just hang.

Ok- I plan to take a 1/2 day off from work, so hopefully I'll get there around that time if I leave Augusta at 11am or 12pm.    I'm not sure how far the drive is for me.  I'll have to mapquest it to find out.

OK dudes and dudettes I have reservations for 16, on Fri, Mar 17 at 6:30pm at the 11th St. Dockside restaurant in Port Royal. It's just a few minutes ( and I mean like 2 min) from the Days Inn and it's one of the best for fresh seafood and steaks.  Will have a meet and greet complete with dancing girls (OK but only if Shannon will dance) at the motel. Should have time to get here, get your packet, check in, visit for a while and then off for a nice meal and then it's beddy bye time.
If anyone needs directions from anywhere to here just let me know. I make the Augusta/Aiken trip periodically so for you guys not familiar with coming through the bomb plant to 278 just ask.
OK we're coming down to the wire. Remember if you need anything please ask. Those of us who are local to this race want it to be a good experience for you all.

We want you to enjoy your visit and then please leave. j/k

OK I'll dance but only if I can wear my kayak skirt, bike tights, and BT singlet. Geez I think I just grossed myself out.

Anyway.....right now the long term forecast is showing the possibility of rain. Plan accordingly. I'll be doing the "no rain" dance but only if I can wear.........

Late check out at the Days Inn has been OKed for those wishing not to drive home smelling like a goat. Notify the desk at checkin that you will be checking out at 12 or 1 or whatever. Is anyone staying Sat night?

Those darn slackers at Cirque de Soleil have cancelled as Fri nights entertainment. Goddess your dance routine is back on.

If you want to check out of the motel early Sat and hang out at PI after the race then you can shower and change at our "Y". It is across the street from the Days Inn and a most excellent facility. I'll notify the desk there that anyone identifying themselves as a BTer is my guest. They may ask for the BT ID card and the secret hand shake.

Yes it does seem that it may be a little chilly Sat morn at start time but warm up after the race. So ladies wear a thicker shirt or just be pointy. Guys.....what can I say? Maybe an extra pair of socks.

Drive safely getting here. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone finish this race....ahead of me.

Okay, we have to have a new plan.  I was kind of planning on winning.....but just realized that a girl that's racing can run the 5k 9 minutes faster than I can.  BUT, she is in line in front of Janelle for the swim......So, Janelle, I might need ya to break something for me.  Just a toe bone, something to slow her down.  Thanks.

Just point her out to me- I'll just grab her ankle or something.  Or I could go for her chip- hmmm...so many options

GREAT idea!  She is listed to be in line right in front of you for the swim....so just bring a razor blade and right before she jumps in the pool, slice off her chip!  Whew...problem solved.
