Well I finally entered my first ever competitive race at at the age of 25. No it wasn't a triathlon but a 6mile cross country race, still i did it in 44.34 and came in 102/150 so i was chuffed. The feeling of racing was incredible and i think i'm addicted! Roll on April and the chirk sprint tri!

Thanks,

Having never benchmarked myself i have little to compare anything to... My swimming is moderate, as is my biking, i lack long distance bike rides as i cover about ten miles a day on commute and rarely have the energy to go out for over an hour, something i'm sure i'll feel come April! Thanks for replying,

Michael

Hey congrats!  My first (and still only) official race was a 5k last October and I loved every minute of it.  I remember it like it was yesterday so I know how you feel.  Remember this feeling to help you keep going on those bike rides when you feel like quitting.

Congrats! When I first read your post I figured you meant 6K, not 6 miles. That's awesome for a first race, wow. What was your pace per mile?

Congratulations Dude!!! Last year I had my first race, a 5K. And like you I became hooked. After that I completed 3 more 5K races before I tackled 4 sprint triathlons; and you want to talk about hooked!!! Now I am really hooked. Some of my friends say that I'm obsessed! I just tell them "What may seem like an obsession to you, is just me being focused!" Congratulations again on your race. A 7.39 pace is pretty awesome, especially over 6 miles.
