I just received my Ankle Road ID today. Very comfortable and the info was perfect to a T!

I am very satisfied with it, but I will give a status report in a week or so after a few runs and bike rides.

Aloha

I've been wearing my wrist one for a week now... Hardly ever even notice it.  My wife notices it more than I do.  It stresses her out to think of the reason I'm wearing it.  :-)

Cold bad... I don't want to wear mine on the treadmill, because I'll look like a ginormous dork.

Bought one also for my husband, who decided he doesn't want to wear it. His rationale? If something happens to him, he trusts I'd come looking... Sheesh.... I'll have to work on him a little.

I just got my anklet in the mail yesterday. It's too cold to train outside right now, but I will be wearing it regularly when the weather warms up!

But all the other tri related stuff doesn't make us look like dorks?  Whew, that's good to know.

Also, I think if you STOP working on him you will have more of an effect.  wink wink.

I wear mine every time I go out the door for exercise. I don't even notice it anymore. I bought one for my brother in law and he wears it now. He calls it his "Death Anklet". I think your hubby needs to realize that if you come looking it might be too late. Strap it to his forehead...that might work! :P

I love my anklet and leave it with my running or cycling shoes when not training.

It's a lot easier than realizing you left your Driver's Lic. with your gear when you get carded at the bar!

Can't. As a woman, it is my responsibility to my gender to be a nag. I'd lose my right to invoke the lipstick rule if I didn't. If he puts it on because it is safe, or if it is simply to get me off his case, I'm fine with that. As long as he is wearing it.

I put one on my running shoes that I wear for long runs, it's on the strings so I can't forget it.  Figure if I wear another pair of shoes I'm not going as far and someone will spot me!

Have also heard of people using the dog tag making machine at a pet store.  You don't have to get the doggy bone shaped one.

Tell him it's a training tool to replicate the timing chip strap.  You know, to get him acclimated to the extra drag it causes and the impacts it might have on his stride.

Your definition of 'working on him' is different than mine.

Where do you get these?

Go to the sponsors page they are now a sponsor. I just ordered mine by the way and for a little over 20 bucks it is well worth it.

No.  However, you can buy a neoprene timing strap for a couple of dollars.  They're much more comfortable than the plastic straps that some races have started using.  Your can often find them at your local running and/or triathlon stores, or you can order them online.  I think DeSoto sells one, and USAT may even have one with thier logo.

Although I think RoadID would be shooting fish in a barrel if they decided to make a timing chip/ID composite one. That'd rule!

While we're talking about timing chip straps...I just bought one off of Ebay and I can't figure out where the chip goes. There's no pouch or anything, just this neoprene velcro strap. What keeps the chip in place?? Please keep in mind I have never actually seen a timing chip so it could be obvious and I just don't know it. Thanks.

The Timing Chip has "slide through holes" on each side. Just like some watches do. Basically, you put the strap through one side, under the chip and out the other side. Then you strap it on your ankle. Chip outside with strap running underneath. Hope that helps!
