Ok, I'm offically out.   Just couldn't break it to Mom, especially since we're moving out of state this year.  She totally gets off on family reunion-type things, so I can't break the woman's heart.  Damn shame it's breaking mine (and Derek's...his a$$ is not racing either!)

I didn't know you lived out here. I am Devin Zito's brother in law. We met at Evangeline Du. I live by the new elem. school across from Easterly lakes, down Pink Graves Rd.

Yep we are very close to each other.... shoot me an email so we don't hijack this thread and get verbally beat down by the other Triathletes...

OH YEAH - I'M IN FOR THIS ONE!

So I just cancelled my Mulletman - this one is easier to get to. (can't find a hotel room and more of my family can come to this one)

So I'm in and I would love love love for everyone to come out to cheer me on for my first triathlon!!!

(who's wearing a wet suit? should I buy one?)

Glad to hear you will be doing this one

I will be wearing a wet suit if they let us.....  Last year it was wet suit legal so hopefully this year it will be also.

There is a BRTri "after party" crawfish boil in New Roads after.... just have to RSVP to let them know you are coming (since you are a BRTri member right?

Yes, I AM a BRTri club member although I will have a lot of family there and will have to deal with them so I probably will not be able to attend the afterparty this year - and honestly I'll probably just want to go home and sleep afterwards.

I'm excited to be doing this race with you guys

I think I'm going to try to swim out there this saturday or sunday morning around 8am (race time) if anyone else would like to come around and see my drown - I'm trying to decide if I need a wetsuit, and a doing at least one OWS before my 800 yard race would be a good idea too.

Just to clarify, I think it is 800 meters which is farther than 800 yards

Just trying to spread some sunshine when I can
