Can I be an honorary Ontario person? I live just over the border to the south, close enough that I listen to a radio station out of Kingston.

I'm planning on the Muskoka Long Course in '07 w/ all the cool Race4Kids peeps.

Past pre BT Ontario races if anyone has any questions: Ottawa Early Bird, NC Half and full marathons(old 2 lap course), K-Town short course, Muskoka LC, Petersborough HIM, Ottawa HIM, Toronto Age Group/ITU race(the coldest swim I've ever done)

I have done GL 3 x and the water is generally pretty calm and the Try a Tri goes early so the wind is not generally up to strong yet. I have practiced in the lake on days that were pretty choppy but race days have been good for me. I am in the GL! Try a Tri as well see you there

I personally really enjoy the GL tris.  There is always a big turnout and since its my home turf, that makes it fun (umm more fun) I don't think any of the Subaru Series tris are on the poll, so thats something to consider aswell.  Oh and the food at the end for both the Subaru Series and Trisports is excellent.

Subaru is the sponsor for Trisport.

Think about the Sprint race in Brampton on June 30th. Great course, faily flat, big crowds!

Bopper - 2007-03-05 12:44 PM I thank you for the suggestions... Elly... I understood what you meant. Took it as it was... typo. I'll have to see about Brampton, that is my b'day... maybe my honey will let me go as a birthday present... LOL... have to keep her happy with all this training I'm doing. ; What is Belwood like? Any one ran that one? enjoy your week folks Kev

I think Jordan has done Bellwood.. Jknapman on BT.. I imagine he'll post here eventually   The Brampton tri was my first (2 years ago when it was just outside of Caledon)  I really enjoyed it and spent the whole day there just hanging out taking it all in.  As has already been mentioned, the turn out is fantastic and some big names usually show up.  Can't really think of too many better ways to spend a birthday.

Elly, you know you need to put away that cyrstal ball....takes the fun out of things.

Yes, I have done Lake Belwood the past two years now, both the try-a-tri and the short course. The swim is pretty dirty, I'm not going to lie. I spend a lot of time at that lake. However, it also means that the water isnt as dark, personally i found that helped take me to my fist OWS without a panic attack. The bike courses are fairly different. The TAT is an out and back, very flat. The short course is a 33k loop, rolling hills actually fairly challenging if you don't keep it in the back of your mind. I really liked it thoughm you go by an old schoolhouse, a few golfcourses, and there is routingly a group of people dressed up as Dr. Suess characters at Km 20. Last year we had thing one and thing two . The run is about as flat as my feet, like a pancake. It goes over the dam to a road in the shape of a number 7 before returning the same way. It was my favourite course of all year.

Sidenote: geoffs, are the AG Nats still being held in Brampton this year? I can seem to find any information anywhere.

Sweet, a reservation! I will be volunteerning at Victoria's to finish of my community hours for graduation, but I will be racing at Milton. I will be in Collingwood this Saturday, but I will be up for other dates as I'm sure there will be other Mega Days to come.

And on the subject of volunteering, I really encourage everyone to try their hand at it. Especially with a two-day race weekend, race one day and help out the other. Trust me, its just as fun and really offers a different perspective. I've worked with Mitch, Janet, and the gang over at TriSport on at few races now. There are never enough volunteers.
