Subject: Runs near Ballard?

I'm coming into town to visit a friend and staying in Ballard. Does anybody know of any 4-6 mile runs in that area, preferably trails...and safe ones, since I'll be running alone?

I recommend Green Lake, here's a link to info and directions:  http://www.ci.seattle.wa.us/parks/parkspaces/greenlak.htm

"The newly reconstructed 2.8-mile path around the lake provides a perfect recreational spot for runners, bikers, skaters and walkers and the adjacent 3.2 mile trail is ideal for joggers. "

When you finish running there are great shops around Green Lake, like Title 9, RoadRunner, Gregg's Cycles, Starbucks, etc.

You could also go on the Burke-Gilman trail. It's paved and a little sketch in the Ballard area, but once it gets past Gas Works Park it's pretty nice. Wherever you go, watch out for bikes
