OldAg92 - 2006-03-12 3:49 PM Actually, it appears they do have a relay division.  Might be a great compromise, if you don't mind being in the BOP since I'm not fast at swimming or biking yet.

Heh. Okay. I'll bring my trainers. :-p

Maybe you could convince Courtney or Dennis to swim, Brandt ride (since this will be better for your training), and Bill run...

thanks for thinking of me haley, but my right arm is in a sling

So you're saying you'll side stroke for 1500m? That's hardcore Courtney!

Actually, this relay idea is growing on me...but I definitely would want to swim so I can try out my new wetsuit.

Let me email Nick and see what he'd be willing to do as far as a relay is concerned.

Actually Derek, you are not losing at all...you're GAINING a beer drinking colleague.  You see, the way I view the scenario, it goes something like this:

Bill starts as your beer drinking colleague while I am swimming and biking.  He tapers a bit during my time on the bike, so that he is at least able to tie his shoes and take the timing chip from me as I dismount, at which time I take over as your beer drinking colleague while Bill stumbles runs the last six miles.

Or Derek could do the swim...*sorry, just choked on my glass of wine* I mean, nevermind.

Bill, you should drink before you run, that would be excellent!

Good point.  I like some variety in my drinking companions.  If I can still operate the camera by then, I can get some good shots of Bill trying not to vomit running.

Okay, seriously, who's in charge of this house rental thing? I need to know if there will be room for me on Friday. If not, I need to make some other arrangements.

Also, any cigar smokers in the group that want to join me for a pre-celebratory stogie Friday night?

I guess since I'm the one that booked the cabin, that would be me.  The cabin sleeps 13 and we'll bring an extra couple of air matresses just in case.  We should have plenty of room.

I need you guys to PM me your names and ages (???) so I can let the cabin people know who all is staying.  Some requirement they have.  I need this ASAP so we don't lose the reservation.  Haley and Aaron, I'll need some info on your cars since we'll be selling them for parts you guys will be staying 2 nights.

I don't have directions yet, but I do know check-in is not until 5:00 on Friday.  I'll try and see if I can get that pushed ahead a little.

Thanks, everybody!

Triathletes plan for everything! Bill, go with what he says, he's a brilliant man.

Brandt, PLEASE come! Relay man AND big brother, don't forget your important role there. Unless of course I get fired next week and stay home in bed crying all weekend anyway, in which case scratch the big brother duty and just do the relay. See, triathletes really do plan for everything.

On a serious note, I'll need someone to pick up my packet. Part of my the Save-CitySky's-Job plan involves SCRATCHING the idea of asking for next Friday afternoon off.

Celeste,

I'm going, I'm doing the relay, and the big brother duty.  I'm happy to pick up your packet...email Nick at Seidel and make sure it is cool with him.  You BETTER not get fired or I'll send my mafia relatives after your boss.  However, if something like that does happen, no staying at home and crying...you're coming to Canyon Lake and you can cry on my shoulder...end of discussion.

I agree with Brandt. You don't have a job, what do you do? Travel to races like me! Perfect time to get in all that you want to do and see your friends!! See, it works out. I can get you a temp job with me if you want

Thanks big bro. & Haley of course.

Meanwhile, my running ability has somehow sneaked out the back door when I wasn't looking. Last 2 times I tried to run, it's just not happening. Not at all sure about the 10K. Hmm.

Well, I'll try more tomorrow (Sat) and see how it goes. Everything is just day by day right now.

That 1/2 mary isn't so far back that you can't use that same base to do 10K! Whoa, I'm closing in on 1000 posts! How did that happen?

Celeste, my runs have hit a wall too.  I haven't run any further than 2 miles since my 1/2 mary in February!  I don't care.  I just want to finish this one.  Don't worry about it!  We'll all carry each other over the line!
