OH BOY!!!! Ghost stories for our cabin adventure...perfect!  But if anyone starts talking in a baritone voice about the Native Americans getting robbed of their homes, I'm outta there!

Smart aleck.....

Changing topics: The race is this week-end and I have no idea where this cabin/room/frat house is that we're supposed to crash in. Anybody got directions?

I realize the easiest way to do this is just to post your orders in this thread.

Anyone coming from a non-F city who wants a Freebird's burrito, I'll pick them up here in Houston JUST as I'm leaving Friday afternoon & collect cash when I arrive, except from Haley, who owes me a massage instead by long-standing agreement.

HOW TO ORDER: post in this thread what size, what kind of wrap, what kind of meat (or roasted veggies), and all the extras you want. If further details are required please visit Freebirds.com. CitySky sez: Don't order the half-size, it's too small. Freebirds size for normal-but-hungry people and Monster size for larger appetites. And these are WAY better than Chipotle.

Bon Apetit.

Great offer, CitySky. However, I'd like to extend the same offer. I can pick them up here in Austin and they'll be about 3 hours fresher that way!

Ok, quick question about tires and such for this race-

I just read an article in Triathlete mag about "rethinking your tire set-up" and now Im rethinking mine.  Would it just be ridiculous to get new tires now?  My tires are nearing the end, I have probably another month, month and a half left in them, but I’ve been using them on the trainer for a while.  I switched the front to the back about 3 weeks ago to help with the trainer wear on them.  Experts- Do you think I should get a new pair of tires now?  I can go to the shop today or tomorrow and grab some but I wont be able to get a real ride on them before the race.  Just want some feedback- THANKS!

I would suggest that you do. It's a course with a lot of up/downhill and you never know what the weather is going to be like. If it's wet, you will wish you had your new tires!

DENNIS -- Excellent, I will to take you up on that. You MUST not flake or I'm the one out a massage. Plus our own Comet has been through enough lately. Please pick up a Freebird's for Haley and for anyone else who posts in this thread. I'll pay you for Haley's of course.

This is a great deal people!!! The burritos will be fresher PLUS you Dennis is more likely to be on time than I am. Work is going better, but each day I just need to play it by ear, and traffic out of Houston on Friday afternoons is pretty bad if you wait too long to start.

HALEY -- pinto beans, black beans, or none? Rice?

As for my own pre-race carbo-loading burrito needs, I'll get my own and eat it in the car.

OMG- Have you guys checked the weather forecast?  Low Friday night is 36 degrees.  Saturday morning it is supposed to be 43 degrees, and we'll be swimming??

I'm suddenly feeling an onset of malaria...maybe I better not come up there and expose all of you to it??????

We're stopping at REI tomorrow in Houston to get my birthday gift, some arm warmers and probably a propane camp stove to mount on my aero bars.  Anybody else need anything from there?  We're heading out of NO in a few minutes, so we'll be on the road for the next 6 hours, but if we need to bring any foodstuffs, let us know!  We're picking up some Abita this morning!

I'll put out an REI trip as well for anyone.  I work about 5 minutes from the Austin REI and, if anyone needed anything, I can pick it up on my way home Friday.  I wont be at the frat house until about 5:30 or 6.  Let me know.  I also have chit-loads of Hammer Gel- Rasberry and Espresso (with caffine) flavors that everyone is welcome to use.

We are going to have so much fun!

We must work right next to each other. I'm about the same distance from REI.

We've only got 1 Freebirds order? I want to make sure no one misses out.

Haley, no beans? No rice?

Everybody try to bring some tights and a long sleeve jersey and windbreaker for the bike and the run. It's better to loose a few minutes in transition than to be freaking cold throughout the race!

I just ordered the tri sleeves top to go with my sleeveless Promotion wetsuit. It's being delivered overnight and will be here tomorrow.

I think I'll wear my arm warmers under it. At my half IM last October, I pulled them on after the swim, and it was a pain in the *** because of wet arms. I got the idea of wearing them under the wetsuit from Desiree Ficker (yes, Brandt, I mentioned Desiree again) who did it at Ralph's last week-end, where she happened to finish second. I can't imagine trying to pull on leggings.

For anyone who needs cold weather stuff- i was just at REI austin  and they have their Sugoi SubZero Arm Warmers on sale for 16.93 and Leg warmers for 26.93.  If anyone is interested, shoot me a PM and I can pick some up for you.

I got myself a pair of the arms.  I already have a pair but they are a different material and Im not sure how they'll work after a swim.  If i dont use the ones i just bought, I'm going to just return them on monday.

Dennis, you must quit teasing me with the Desiree references.  By the way, I'll have the same burrito as Haley, but no HOT sauce...I'm a wimp when it comes to spicy stuff.
