Subject: Sunburst Marathon

OK, mama bear and I are in, have picked this as our late spring marathon. Made flight and hotel reservations yesterday, will register for the race later this week. Looks like we'll arrive Thursday evening and leave Monday morning.

 Anyone else in? Sunburst offers lots of races at various distances, a veritable running festival...

YOU are coming up HERE????? How cool! I am doing the Half Mary. I live here in South Bend, and would be happy to meet up before and after the race. My wife and I will both be doing the race. Lots of stuff to do here, especially if weather is permitting. Give me a shout back here and we can work out some details.

Hey, cool, I had given up on this thread and wondered if there was anyone from Indiana on the boards.

Yeah, we're coming in late on the 1st, leaving early on the 5th. Staying at the cheapo Howard Johnsons on S. Dixie Way. Shoot me some sight seeing tips, let me know if/when you want to get together.

Sunburst is pretty well organized ~ the finsh is AWESOME and makes the race (50 yeard line in ND stadium). I did the 1/2 last year and doing again this year. Last year they announced your name on the PA as you ran into stadium. ND fight song was being played... I'm no ND fan but it got me pumped up.

Let me know if you need any recommendations.

I may do this race. I ran this in the early 90's and the marathon was stopped by one of those slow trains at about mile 10. It held up everyone for about 20 min waiting for the train to go by.....not a good situation. I'm sure it never happened again it was just funny looking back on it.
