Great race - couldn't stick around for most of the after-race activities as my pup was acting up and my wife was stuck in the car with him :)

This was my first 5K EVER! My initial goal was 30 min, but I really wanted to hit 27min. I was very happy with 28 minutes. I think I could have gotten a better time if I hadn't spent the first half of the race worrying about 'keeping up' with certain runners who I figured I could beat and just running my own race. Race and learn, I suppose. Having some familiarity with the race course also helps. Other than the people shouting out times at each mile marker, I had no idea where I was on the course.

It was definitely fun though. My body wanted to walk so much on the last mile or so, but I just chugged along and made sure I didn't quit.
