Pre-race routine:

Drove up to Suches from my house, about an hour and a half drive. Was raining when I left the house and most of the way up there. Met huengsolo (Brian) and a few other friends there at the ride start.
Event warmup:

Comments:

This was an amazing ride!! If you are planning to come and watch the Tour De Georgia next year, they are having the ride the weekend before the Tour starts so come on down. It's also a great cause to support. (And you get a cool jersey when you finish).
What would you do differently?:

Nothing really, except not have 2 flats during the ride. I surprised myself with how well I was climbing. I need to learn better descending skills though.
Post race
Warm down:

Went for a quick transition run around the camp ground area. Then went and ate some yummy food.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The fact that I am not Lance, or Basso going up hill and Paolo Salvodelli going down. Given the fact that I am 6'3 and weigh 175lbs I was out climbing alot of smaller guys.

Event comments:

Again I highly recommend this ride! If you are local to Atlanta then you really should go next year.

Wind: Strong
Course: Rolling hills and mountains in North Georgia. This was on part of the mountain stage for the Tour De Georgia. Started off rolling with some pretty good climbs, second segment flattened out a little, too much traffic for my liking, third segment was rolling also, segment for was the Queen Biotch of a climb Wolfpen Gap (if you aren't familiar with it watch a TDG video, its the one where the pros are dropping like flies). This climb went on FOREVER!!!. Great course, very scenic.

You were a climbing machine going up Wolf Pen ... dropped me + the 24 yr old hammerhead who joined our little peloton along the way.  It was pretty cool seeing the remants of the 2005 street graffiti urging Lance and the other Discovery Team riders during this part of the Tour de Georgia.

Great ride ... you better stay seated in that bicycle as I'm gunning to take you on at least one of the gaps @ Six Gaps this September!

Cannot wait to see the pics from atop. Post 'em here when you get them back?

Nice ride Brett!  Maybe I'll do this ride someday- when I learn to love hills and climbing.
