Like most of us in the Tri world you have way toooooooomuchshit hanging off your bike And the nose of your saddle is too low.

But it is a Specialized so we'll cut you some slack.

l0wnsl0 - 2006-04-04 4:23 PM its not the pc3?

Or even a P3C

Only guess would be the bar-ends extend past the brake levers???

So let's see...

-Yes, it's just you...the front wheel is on right

-Bento Boxes are for girls...real cyclists cram $hit in their jersey

-No, the tires are both on correctly

-No, it's not a WSD

-what about the front brake pad?

-YOU can ride in the big ring...just keep telling yourself you're a REAL triathlete when I flash by on the run

-No, both my bar ends are plugged

-No, my post isn't above the "safety mark", that is tape marking the proper height

-I do have pedals...Speedplay

-My tool pack has the CO2 and tubular sealant I need to fix a tubular tire

-the "thing" on the top tube is to hold a gel flask

- I have 2 sensors on the front fork...one for my computer and to send speed data to my Polar...which doesn't work very well.

-I'm still tweaking my fit so I'm not cutting the steerer tube yet

-I'm not anal about the direction of my QR levers

- My aerobars are under my handlebars...that's where Carbon Strykes mount

-Not sure I understand the "too much **** hanging off your bike" comment...aside from the extra sensor on the fork which was just an experiment I haven't taken off yet.

-I don't race ITU so my aerobars are allowed to extend past the levers

- Seat is not too far forward...I ride about 81 degrees

I'm going for a ride...I'll check back with you all later tonight

I'd like to take a stab...did you forget your bike shoes?  Those clips sure would have been hard to peddle on with your running shoes.

It looks like a girls frame to me too. Or a hard tail mountain bike with that sloped top tube. What do I know I haven't been able to buy a new bike in 20 years!

Clearly the left shifter is cabled to the rear derailer and the right shifter is erroneously connected to the front derailer.

The brake cables are also crossed in such a way that when you apply the breaks you actually accelerate.

Foithermoir, the cadence pick-up is where the speed pick-up is supposed to be and vice-versa and this mean that while your maintain a constant velocity, your cadence varies drastically!

Also, your crankset is 180 degrees out! (whatever the heck THAT mean!)

Maybe this has to do with something?

His Log

UPDATE - Well, the bike apparently needs some serious adjusting to accomodate the race wheels.  It shifted and rode like crap.  I only did a couple miles just to try and get a feel for the wheels.  There also seems to be some kind of balance issue in the rear wheel.  Hopefully Corey can get it worked out for me tomorrow.

Oh sure...he got beat in the triathlon by a 57 year old guy so he blames it on the race wheels.   Heh!  I told you to stay in the big chainring!!!

What's wrong with this picture is that all of us are sitting here wondering about that photo of a perfectly fine bike while he's out riding it and laughing at us!!!

Man, this is driving me crazy.

I've researched your bike. I believe it's a 2003 Specialized Allez Comp Zebrata and I could only find it on Italian websites.

I found this post that referenced your wheels and tires:
Check out the American Classic 58mm carbon tubulars. They use Zipp 404 rims and AC hubs. They are almost the same weight as 404s and aerodynamically the same as the previous Zipp404 without the dimples, but cost a bunch less. I picked up a slightly used set from eBay with 2 brand new Tufo S3 Lite tires for $800. I checked out the Stingers but I wasn't happy with the extra weight considering the other options. Also check out the Hed H3c. Zipp also has the new Flashpoint line of "budget" wheels so you can get a set of pseudo 404's for $935 from Trisports.com with the BT discount.

So I researched the AC wheels and Tufo tires. Still no clues. It's right under my nose and I can't see it! Argh!

There's no rider on it. Thus the lost power.

Also, there's no water bottle, so you got dehydrated and got a DNF at your duathlon.

I'm a friggin' genius.

But seriously, there is something wrong and it has nothing to do with the new race wheels...although you get bonus points for actually doing some research in an attempt to figure it out.

I have issues getting to BT (and my Hotmail) from work so I wasn't able to let you all off the hook earlier in the day. then I got home and realized it was fun to let you just keep guessing :) Lots of ideas...most of them wrong...but a few did figure it out. About 2 miles into the bike portion my seat nose took a dive and I endd up riding about an inch lower on the saddle and had to keep pushing myself back constantly. That will teach me not to check every single bolt before a race. It was actually more drastic than it looks. My seat would normally be about parallel with the the lines of the siding.

And I never noticed it before but the frame does kinda look like a WSD...WTF?

Impressive research...shouldn't you be out training or something

Actually it wasn't under your nose, it was under my @ss...or more specifically under my, well, you know what sits on top of the nose of the saddle...
