Moonlight Run 5K at 8PM, so I'll take it easy today. Hydrate and carb/proteins for the body fuel.

The run is pretty because it's done at dusk and when you get to the finish the last 100 yards are lit with luminaries (candles in a bag).

I'll fill out my race report this evening.

Have a good day,
Evelyn

Oh that sounds like a nice run!

This weekend is a loooong bike ride for us -65 miles into the city, 30 mile official ride, and then another 65 miles home. So I'm taking it easy today. Just a little yoga, and easy yoga, at that!

OH! And I'm hoping that my physical therapist will release me today, so I can start swimming again. The pools I like reopen this weekend. Cross all your fingers and toes, because I haven't been swimming in a month, and it's making me nuts.

Sounds like a fun race Evelyn. I'm not working tonite, so I was tempted to jump in the car and drive the 2-1/2 hours and enter the race too, but it'd probably get me home at midnight, and I've got to leave at 6:00 AM on Saturday for a duathlon in Portsmouth New Hampshire. So it's going to be a rest day for me today. Let me know sometime when you're running a race on a Saturday or Sunday and Patti and I will come down (me to enter the race and she to spectate) and we'll get a chance to meet another forum member and say "Hi".

Got up and went for a run. I cut off 20 seconds from my run. It doesn't sound like a lot but for as short as I run that's huge. I blame my new bra . I will probably go for a bike ride with my husband later and maybe to the pool, but I won't lap swim at the pool, it's family time.

Sounds like a beautiful run. Skeeter free, too!

I'm doing weights today at lunch and am not sure about tonight. I wanted to bike to the gym for a swim, but we may end up hanging out with friends. Ideally, my friends won't make it to our place until late and I'll have time to sneak to the gym anyway.

I did 5.5 miles on the asphalt trail yesterday. I guess the heat was around 86/87 with about 80-90% humidity. It was tough, but I ran pretty fast considering. I also added a few fartleks. I tried to cheer all the other runners on, too. I hope I made someone's day. Anyway, I didn't finish making dinner until about 8:30 (way too late). I was so tired and so bonking that after I finished eating dinner, I crawled right into bed! I feel MUCH better today.

Max,
You and Patti should come down for the Litchfield Hills Road Race. If the weather is good, we picnic on the green (non-runners prior to the race) and the rest of us nuts after the race. It's a 7 mile, not easy, race. The Kenyans are usually there to make the rest of us look like we're running in slow motion. Nothing like being 3 miles in and they are almost done. The race is June 13 and starts at 1 pm to the sound of a cannon.

It is a good time.

Wow, I just checked my schedule Evelyn and I'm not doing anything that weekend. I'll pencil it in and plan to come down for it if the weather cooperates. I like getting in those big races with a lot of competitors, as it increases the odds that I might be able to finish ahead of some other runners!

Work has kept me away from the pool this a.m. Won't get finished early enough to go this p.m. Guess I'll rest up for my long bike tomorrow.

33 mile ride in more nasty weather. First half was not bad, partly sunny and a light breeze. Then the last 16 miles that light breeze turned into a howlind 10-20 mph headwind with rain. It would sure be nice to workout in some decent weather!! Averaged the usual 21 or so mph on the first half but only 18.2 overall because of the weather. Oh well...what doesn't kill you makes you stronger...right???
