Comments: Temps in the 50s, but a bitter and strong wind made the "out" pretty painful. I tried to stay in control and draft off other racers. I was in 11th place at the turn around and moved up to 8th overall, and 4th in my age group (39 and under) out of 250 in the age group. I was 22 min+ at the 3.2 mile turn around, 35 min through 5 miles, 41:50 through the 6 mile and finished the last .4 in 2:41. The best part is no stomach cramps, I had a kick, and I felt solid and strong throughout the last two miles. I wasn't bent over at the waist, although I still need lots of work on my core. Post race food was galbi pork, chicken on a stick, 2 bananas and a moon pie. The moon pie in the goodie bag is what I love most about racing in South Korea. What would you do differently?: Nothing. I think I maximized my training and adjusted for weather conditions to the best of my ability at this point in the training year ![]() Post race
Warm down: light jogging and stretching for 10 minutes What limited your ability to perform faster: weather Event comments: Pre race was a cluster of the several hundred people pushing to the start line. Although chip times are kept, winners are who crosses the line first, so people fight to get to the front of the pack early. Unfortunately, many walkers and joggers feel entitled to push their way to the front as well. Post race, there was some confusion over the awards and age groups and someone messed up the results from the female 10K and 1/2, so we had to wait 2 hours for them to resolve it so we could get our awards and leave.
