welcome to Triathlons...  there is a group in the south jersey area (first year for the group), that are very very laid back group of people, who have many different levels of experience from people who haven't done and tris to people who have done Ironmans.  Here is the website, we are having a group meeting this Sunday 4/30/06 at Fleet Feet in Marlton (70&73) at 5pm you are more than welcome to come along and see if you like the club before you join.  Our website isn't great, we mostly use Yahoo groups to communicated to our members.  We often have group run/rides and even open water swim (lakes)

As far as the bike is concerned, i would suggested a road bike, there are all sorts of brands and price levels.  You need to figure out a price level and go from there.  The only place i know of in south jersey is D&Q on 70 and 295, but there is a new bike shop opening in a few weeks also on 70, in Cherry Hill, i think it's going to be called Keswick.  Right off the bat you don't need a road bike to do a triathlon, if you have a mntb bike you can use that.  Cause i wouldn't want you to buy a new bike to find out later you don't like triathlons. So i would wait until you know you want to comit to this sport.  That is my 2 cents.  If you have any questions drop me a line.

kleinrider I am having trouble with the web site that you posted below. It says that it's not available.

Let me introduce myself as well. I am located in South Jersey as well and work in Mt. Laurel. I have been in the area for quite some time and would be interested in getting together with some of you guys to train. Would there be any problem if I were to come along to Fleet Feet as well on this coming Sunday?

my name is john..... it seems that website is down this afternoon for some reason.   The website is free so we are only able to have a certain number of hits during the day.  We would love for you to join us for training and coming out on Sunday for our meeting. Our meeting is at 5pm on Sunday at Fleet Feet.  Looking forward to meeting you.  Please feel free to introduce yourself to me on Sunday.

No problem at all. I saw when I joined this site that you were from the Philly area and I saw you raced in a few local races around here. I figured we would eventually cross paths. My name is Mike and if I get over there on Sunday I will be sure to introduce myself.

How often do you guys typically train. I am really looking for someone to hit the bike with. Running wouldn't be bad either.

Nice to meet you Mike.

We train almost every weekend.  During the week there are group runs out of a few local parks and Fleet Feet has 1 or 2.  We try to ride every Sat or Sunday, as the weather gets warmer we'll have some swim in some local lakes.  We like to keep active with the training.

Perfect. Thanks for the info. I look forward to coming out for some training. I have been doing quite a bit on my own, feel free to take a look at my logs. I have only been keeping them for the last two months.

Suggestions, comments, etc are welcome.

Thanks
