Pre-race routine:

clifbar when I woke up.
Event warmup:

walked about a mile from hotel to starting area. foggy and warm. stayed overcast until about mile 9 or ten, which was good.

Comments:

good run.
Picked up a water bottle on the route. should have brought my own to carry. a little weak gatorade would have been good. drank the cytomax on the course and one gu that was towards the end.
was pretty much winging this one because of the lack of recent training.
race actually went pretty well, especially with the circumstances (little running since HIM 5 weeks ago). mentally good. Just kept going. walked only at drink stations. Tried to keep near the 4:15 marathon pace group.
What would you do differently?:

um, train some more. bring own nutrition.

Warm down:

walked 2 miles back to hotel.

Event comments:

well-run. ontime and clearly marked.
Good bands and lots of spectators which is fun and helpful.

Course: course around san antonio. first few miles were through industrial and highway areas. not very nice, but then went through downtown and King Williams district which was nice. quite flat.
