Pint of cold skim milk with choc. malt Ovaltine for routine shorter work outs.   Add Endurox R4 for anything over an hour.

...and by "add", I don't mean to the milk, I mean "additionally"!

ReGen = amazing.  Just like Chocolate milk, but with more carbs:Protein.  It has real Cocoa in it so it tastes like Chocolate Milk.  http://www.regen2recover.com/

Fluid Recovery Drink - Chocolate Wave flavor.

It's like drinking a tootsie roll.

X2. I noticed a big different in recovery switching to this from chocolate milk.

That's interesting. In my case, I can't drink 8 oz. of milk without getting cramps and, um, other issues I don't want to go into in public. Laughing So I can't compare Fluid to Chocolate Milk.

I can compare it to what I was doing before which is just eating regular food like cheese sticks (which don't bother me) or finishing off whatever I was drinking on the bike along with a protein bar or whatever I had brought with me.

What I found is that using real food was too haphazard for me. Using Fluid worked much better because I was getting exactly what I needed with that magic 30 minute window instead of maybe getting the right stuff, maybe not and often not until I got home which was at least an hour later.

Same here with real food. The difference with chocolate milk and Fluid was mainly on long runs where I noticed less soreness and a quicker recovery. I only use it on either long or hard training sessions, other than that I don't take anything or might just have chocolate milk!

Beer.

The Branson HIM finish was just in front of a flight of stairs leading up to a bar....I got wrapped in my blanket and headed right past the water/gatorade/hot dogs/burgers and straight up the stairs and into the bar...still with my blanket wrapped around me.  The bartender just kept laughing....never charged me for my beers. Laughing

20 minutes later I was eating a big ole rare strip steak and a baked potato.

That's all I need..... Life is good!

Mornings are getting cold here, down to the 20's & low 30's. A warm bowl of Oatbran with a cup of cocoa (my reg. choc. milked warmed) and a banana. MMM MMM GOOD!

Ramon Noodles with an egg dropped in and sometimes soy sauce. Seems to keep me upright after a long run or bike. I will eat anything after a long swim. Probably not the most healthy, but the sodium / carb / protein combo seems to keep me nourished.

Chocolate protien drink with scoop of L-glutamine in milk with a banana, then blend it all.

If I'm at home and can eat I'll just use half a scoop of protien powder with glutamine then probably a couple of eggs and toast.

Wow--there's someone else who has a ramen habit--for some reason I always crave this after swimming. Not any other workout, just swimming. Fortunately there's a great Japanese ramen place right across from my workplace, where the pool is! Miso ramen--that's protein and carbs, right?
