I was thinking of getting some race laces to assist in time for transition. Do you use these? What are the best kind to get and best place to get them? Yankz????

I've been using Yankz for a while and would recommend them.  Lots of places online have them - check one of the sponsors' websites.

I've been liking Xtenex more than Yankz, but they are more expensive.

I've wondered about this for longer distance races.  For short races I use Yankz.  For half and full races I use regular laces.  It makes it easier to adjust tightness and I've had the Yankz come loose one time out of no where.

+1 - have both Xtenex and Yankz and prefer the Xtenex because you can adjust the tightness independently for each set of eyes.  The Yankz always seem to have a spot that is too loose or too tight.

Yankz or Nathan Velocity for shorter events.  For longer (HM+) runs I still prefer regular laces.

Another vote for Yankz.  You can get them at REI.

I love these too.  They easily move from shoes to shoes as they wear out so not expensive at all.

Another vote for Locklaces. Still have the ability to tighten or loosen quickly, but very fast on/off and no worries about them coming untied.

My first pair of Yankz worked great. The second not so much. (I probably did something wrong when I put them in.)

I have Xtendz now and I like that I can keep adjusting them until they feel right but I do get more blisters since I switched to them.

Good to know they'll last awhile.  I only have them on the race pair, so those don't pick up mileage as quickly.

I saw someone mention about the tension between yankz and laces.  It's going to be fairly constant all along the foot. With the Xtnenex, this tension can be adjusted between every eyelet because of the knobs.  It's fantastic, set it and forget it.  Well, make adjustments as needed at first, but once it's tuned in you never have to touch the laces again. I also don't have that big loop to tuck in, like with yankz or other stretch systems.
