Went out with Lance for the first 4 miles then we went our own ways. Goal was to get as close to a 135 as possible and with a standard course I would have mede it. Went out in 7 flat with the downhill then slowed on lap 2 d2 the hill. Next 2 laps were consistant till we hit the last set of uphills on lap 5. Took the caffine gel at 6ish over the course of a mile. Finished my bottle around 8 to 9 mi. Miles 8-11 weree hard. I lost a bit of focus and had a hard time pushing the pace. Tossed my long sleeve shirt around 10.5 and tried to not count the miles. Turning from the unnoticible tailwind to the headwind was brutal. Took a while but found a few faster runners to draft behind and it helped a lot. Lt hammy started tightening up on me around the 10 mi point, not fun. I chased a guy for the last 2.5 mi but lost him at the last aid station. In hindsight I should have stayed with him vice taking the water and my last lap wuld have been 5-10 sec faster. The cup of water cost me 5 places overall
What would you do differently?:

go out slightly slower and wear the correct clothing. Also no stop at last water stop. Training was the biggest thing that kept me from performing well. Time to get serious again!
Post race
Warm down:

Got to the gear check area as soon as I could (after getting a muscle milk down) to get dressed and warm. Had a massage which was really needed. Got to the shuttles as fast as possible to get back into my hotel to warm up.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of consistant and focused training
