I am in. I live in Illinois but have a friend in North Tarpon Springs. Normally I (along with a couple of friends) run the Gasparilla Half later in the month while visiting, but this year we thought we would try this race.

Maybe. I'm thinking about it. I just decided this morning to start training for a middle distance race (definitely doing Gasparilla, 15k at a minimum, maybe the half). Depends on how disciplined I am with my training schedule; I just started lacing up again after being sick for a month.

It should be a fun race. I have trouble sometimes at Gasparilla because it's so much warmer than Illinois, hopefully the weather will cooperate.

Fun! You will enjoy it, I am sure! Agree with the advice to just stick with your plan.

I see that you live in St. Petersburg --- did you by chance do the Beachapalooza 5K a couple of weeks ago?  Our daughter-in-law did and had a blast. It was her first organized running (and I use that term loosely) event.

Very cool! Emily mentioned the Tough Mudder, don't know if she is planning to take that one in but it sounds like fun.

I am doing the 15k in Gasparilla, but I won't be ready for a HM. Needless to say that I can't make the St Pete HM in Feb either, maybe in 2013

I am in - can blame abake for the February half marathon annual adventure in Florida!   This is my 3rd year of travel from Illinois to Florida to race...

Anyone know the course?  where's any hills?  Temps this time of year?  Expo?  looking forward to sunshine, for sure!

Tough Mudder - hmmmmmm
