My streak ended on Saturday. We had a grueling full day of my husband's pre-deployment briefings. When we finally got home late in the afternoon, the kids and I napped hard for 3 hours. I was mentally and emotionally too spent for anything. We woke up from the nap, rolled into a Mex' restaurant for dinner, then got home and went to bed.

Ah well. I'll keep running!

Sorry about that. Life happens sometimes. We leave for our vacation on Tuesday, so it is going to be a challenge for me to get my run in every day.

For instance, on Tuesday, we leave the house at 5:00 a.m. and will drive just over 700 miles to Gallup, NM. I'm hoping I can get a run in. I'm seriously thinking of going out at about 4:30 a.m. to get a mile in before we drive off. We'll see.

Anyway, I got my one mile in tonight -- in my jeans. It was nice a quick. Well, relatively speaking, of course. :-)

I hope everyone had a great Sunday!

Easy run today, 2km barefoot beach run, stars were out but there was a big electrical storm on the horizon, very spectacular!

I really need to get back in the pool, I've just not felt like it since my last tri (an Oly) a month ago. I had to do my timed 400m swim as part of my annual lifesaver proficiency today and my time was 40secs slower than last year...

Felicia: Yes, life happens, and it is happening to us at the moment. I'm OK, with it though. It's important at this time to focus on my husband's deployment, as gut wrenching as it is. I'm sure you'll stick to your streak! Get the early morning mile in!

David: Awesome sauce, getting your run in. Tell you what, I'm not a swimmer, but having started training to become at least 1/2 of one, I'm always itching to get in the pool to "practice". I'm finding practicing in this arena is very important.

Blanda, prayers out to you and your family. I've always thought it takes a special, strong woman to be the force at home behind a deployed soldier.

Felicia...have a great trip!  Say hey to Mickey and do your best to keep the streak alive!  My challenge will be next week with some traveling we'll be doing.

Happy Monday all!  Hit my one mile after 1:20 on the trainer.

That sounds fun!

I barely made it today. Literally. I left the house at 11:50 p.m. give or take a minute. I walked back in the door at 12:02 a.m.

If today was rough, tomorrow is going to be really hard. I could run early, but I really want to run in New Mexico. :-)

Groundhog day! Another 2k barefoot beach run in the dark

Well done all the streakers! Blanda, I'm amazed you've managed to keep going with all the deployment stress, don't worry about the occasional missed run, you can just do 2 runs a day to make up for it - only kidding!

Morning Kids!

3.5 miles done this morning...little later than usual. One of our Christmas trees toppled sometime overnight, darn thing.  But, got the tree back up and run is done!  Have a great day!

We are rocking this challenge!

I was puking all night and I have a fever.  If I feel human this afternoon I may go for a 1 mile crawl.  If not, my streak may be over. Cry

Steak sounds awful right now! Wink

Went for a mile walk with my toddler.  That counts in my book!  Done!  Streak is still going!

Got my mile in. We got up at 4:15 a.m. Out the door by 5:00. Into Gallup, NM at 4:00 -- 12 hour drive, with the change in time zones. Four states before lunch.

One mile on the hotel treadmill. Yuck. But strange town, getting dark, threatening to snow, so inside it was. The only good thing about it was I ran it with my swimming suit on under my running clothes, and I went immediately from the treadmill to the pool.

Whoo hoo! I'm in New Mexico. I love love love the southwest.

Felicia...glad you arrived to your first destination safely!  Way to get the run in...I hate hotel treadmills.  The deck is always rock hard.

As for me, got 5.5 miles in this morning, feelin' groovy.

I'm climbing out of the flu hole.  I'll walk my mile again today.  Hopefully it will be slightly faster than yesterday.

Feel better!  Our little town has been hit with the flu...crossing my fingers it doesn't cross my path!

Keep feeling better.

Navajo Nation now, in Arizona. We have all decided to move here. My two older boys confessed to me that they wished we were Navajo. :-) I agree.

Ran a 1/4 mile trail from parking lot to pueblo ruins six times. The first time with my middle son. The second time alone, and the last time with my little boy. It was a great workout because there was some elevation gain up to the ruins.

I think we might be going to the Grand Canyon tomorrow -- we are 30 minutes from the south rim. My husband has planned everything and is keeping everything very secretive. We're having a great time.

Oh, and we saw the Wigwam. Motel -- the one that everyone knows about. It's not functioning, but they have it set up with period cars parked in front of some of the buildings. We had so much fun there.

And we rode the rabbit. My middle son said that was his favorite thing today. Meteor crater and pueblo ruins, but sitting on a rabbit was his favorite part. Oh, brother. :-)
