Pre-race routine:

cup of coffee and banana. Drove 1/2 hour to race with lovely wife (who also ran). Used porta potty at race then ran half mile. Shed long pants and cotton long sleeve shirt. Had on shorts, technical T-shirt and fleece jacket.

Comments:

This was as close to a perfect race as I have ever done. My plan was to run 4 7 minute miles and then speed up. I kept the enthusiasm controlled until done 5 miles then sped up. PR'd by over 2 minutes.

What would you do differently?:

Perhaps speed up a little sooner. Next time I will try going out a little faster.

Shed fleece jacket under the water station table at mile 3. Very good move. Next time just not wear it.

Starbucks with lovely wife, who also PR'd.

Event comments:

No swag at all. T-shirt was tech this time (good), but again no year on it. (bad)
