Run
Comments: Good, hard effort. Pushed and pulled with a nice fellow in the last 1/2 mile or so, which helped both of us. Too bad the course was short...would have been a big 5K PR. Using my garmin mileage even though they said it was a 5K. What would you do differently?: Nothing, very happy with the effort and the time. Having thrown in a little "speedwork" lately seems to have helped considerably. Post race
Warm down: Hung out with Kerry, Don, and Julie a bit more. Talked w/ Nathan, who won the race overall looking like he was jogging easily. Answered pump questions for a bit at the Minimed booth and met some nice folks along the way. Got to educate a couple of med students re: pumping and CGM's. What limited your ability to perform faster: Current fitness level...otherwise nothing. Event comments: This was the first year they offered a chip timed 5K. Event is more about diabetes awareness than running, and not very well advertised outside that circle. But it attracted more runners than I thought it would. I could not rate it above average since the course was significantly short of the advertised 5K. They did awards and had a printout of results by AG, but never posted anything online, so I'm using my Garmin time and distance. Last updated: 2011-10-11 12:00 AM

Race start was later in the morning than usual, so nice relaxed breakfast and then off to Arlington. Got to the expo and met up with my DESA teammates, Don & Julie. Kerry ran into an old friend from high school, and they decided to hang out together.
A couple strides w/ Don and Julie.
