For those of you looking for a reason to keep riding this winter, there is a fun ride 2/25/12 that goes around Lake Okeechobee.   Did it last year and had a great time.   They have different rides os check out the link.   This year they will have timing chips, although still technically a charity ride.   Majority of the course has you riding along the dike and it is some of the best views you could ever imagine.    Good cause as well.   I would be open to starting a BT team if anyone interested.

Saw in the race post here in BT that the pace for the century will be 20mph? Is this true?

I did  this last year and had a good time. Unfortunately for me it is on the same day as the WPB half marathon that I already signed up for.

Maybe next year.

Have fun with out me!

The longer ride broke out into  2-3 groups.   1st group did avg. 20mph, but it was a large group and effort level certainly not typical 20 mph pace.    But there were others at 18 mph, etc.    I think this year with larger field, you will find plenty of different pace groups.   Nobody was left behind and with 4-5 aid stations, we all caught up with each other along the way.

Thanks! One more question - tri bike friendly?

Answered my own stupid question by going to the website. It is tri-bike friendly.

It is...   Will tell you that it is very well supported with everything included including after party, aid stations, shirts etc.   The true benefit to be honest outside the charity is the amazing view along the dike around Lake O.   Most scenic century I have done in the state.
