Subject: Upcoming road races

Hey gang,

I live in Tampa but will be staying in NO (actually living in Chalmette but working in NO) from approximately 1/9/12 to 3/9/12. I'll be doing a 1/2 marathon back in FL as soon as I get back, and was wondering if there are any good running events in NO during the time that I will be there.

Looking for something longer than a 5K, maybe a 10K, 15K, or 10 miler?

The Louisiana Marathon, January 15 in Baton rouge, has a half, as does the Mardi Gras Marathon in NO on March 4.

Also seeing 10Ks inNO on January 15 & 28, and February 11.

Thanks Bear. Any feedback on the New Orleans Levee Top Trail? Also looking for good places for training runs. I did see your comments about on another thread further down about following the commuter line roundtrip for roughly a 12 miler as well.

There is a 10k on 3/25 in Baton Rouge called the Mardi Gras Mambo. That is a fun fast race with a nice after party. It was my first 10k last year and I plan on doing it every year from now on. Very well organized. I think it is $25 and it can be found on Active.com website.
