I have been training this week, but I have also been slammed at work!

You guys know I will get the conversation started!

So lets all post a cool picture of ourself! I will start. This was the day I got my Cervelo P3!

I would love to find a P3 to build up. That is a sweet bike.

Ok I am back.  I took a ski vacation with the family and decided not to take the computer or work phone.  It was great getting away from the tech stuff for a week.   I will update my log for this weeks workouts later and try to pust a pic.

I love your transition photo eddie.   I can never run with my hand on the seat my bike wants to turn every time.

Great day on the bike yesterday. Just what I expected as the training has paid off. I kept dropping everyone except a friend who rides about 5k Miles a year. Very happy overall and I have also added some swimming days. Hope everyone is having a good week.

Dragging a little this week, probably due to the long run/ride over the weekend.  I've got to try and get more sleep during the week.  Three days in a row now with less than 6 hours sleep.

just got back from a bike trip to florida. brought my bike and rode from daytona to st augustine, spent a couple of days riding the area and then rode back.

What a great way to mix vacation and training!

Also, came to the sad conclusion that Florida roads are WAY faster than south texas roads. Oh well. It was nice while it lasted.

After a week of no running to recover from achilles tendonitis I hit the track yesterday and hurt it again pretty much immediatly. So I got back to arrosti which has always cleared it up in the past. But that means no running for at least another week. not he end of the world given that I will just bike and swim more but it would be nice to feel 100% again.

I have successfully made it from Florida to Tucson with nothing but my dog, my bike, and some clothes. The movers will be here next week with the rest!

My friend has some crazy rides planned for me - hills will be interesting!

How is everyone else doing??

congrats on the move. Hope the rest of your stuff arrives safely.

I just signed up for my first every century ride! April 22! Pretty excited.

I am also encouraged by the progress my achillies is making in response to the Arrosti treament. I am 48 hrs out from hurting it really badly and I am already walking without a limp. Hard to believe the marathon finish line was less than a month ago. Fells like I havent had a good run in 100 years.

A big test ride/run the course weekend for me.  Saturday I'm riding the KC Tri 5150 course, then doing the run course for a nice brick workout.  Then on Sunday I'm riding the IMKS 70.3 course, not sure if I'll do a run after, see how I feel.

It's extreme makeover day for my felt roadie.  White tires, white seal, white bar tape will be replaced with black, then I'll add the aerobars.  Only thing left will be wheels.  Looking online for a deal on Mavic Aksium wheelset in BLACK.  Saw them on Bonktown over the winter for $150, should have bought then.

Woah - big weekend! That's awesome! Ride safe

I love bike makeovers. Even when I just changed my handlebar tape, I was excited to ride it even more.

Should be fun, both rides are with groups and I've never done the bar tape thing, although can't be that complicated but just to be sure, I found a great youtube video on how to do it.  I should have a long run this weekend but I'm feeling good about my run fitness and I'm behind on the bike fitness.

Hey - look at that! We're archived!

I'm still here, and still on BT. I'll check back here fairly often. PM me if you need anything!

I'm not sure I'll have a group for the next mentor period, so feel free to shop around as groups open!

The achillies is still to ready to run yet. Tried yesterday and it was a disaster. Guess I will give it another week. or 10 days.

Worst case, I will be racing a bunch of aqua bikes this summer...

wow - got a lucky break. The health club that I swim at is starting a masters swim group at pretty much the same time of day that I have been swimming. I officially have no excuse to not get instruction and get pushed.

Elaine - I am in if you decide to reopen.

Had a big swim pr today. 400M @ 7:41 down from 8:08 11/11.

I think that I hate swimming Laughing. You can kill yourself for a pr that will totally get lost over the course of a race.

Oh well. At least I feel like I am accomplishing something while I wait for my tendonitis to calm down. Walking without a limp for the first time in a few weeks today.

Thought I share this with the group that first helped motivate me throught this journey..

Well friends, I did it..... Finished my second triathlong and first HIM. I will put up a race report later, but here are some of the highlights:

Finishing was of course the icing on the cake. It took me 6:33 to finish which is right where I thought I would be. My nutrition was good I felt good the entire race energy wise, but not hydration wise.

I had a few issues,
first, my gears were giving me some problems at first and had to adjust them.
The bag I bought for the front of the frame (bento box) was too bid and was rubbing my legs so I had to stick in in my shorts the the entire ride.
I got a flat tire about 2 miles in.
It was hot as can be and I did not drink enough water on the bike which led to bad cramps on the last part of the bike and run. About .5 miles into the run, my quads and hamstrings locked up on both legs.

Ended up having to run walk the 13 miles because of the cramping. great experience at the end of the day. Very difficult course. heard some people say they were 40 minutes slower in Knoxville than they were in other half distance events.

Very happy at the end of the day....
