I'm lowbrow when it comes to this; I love spice cake made from a box mix with canned cream cheese icing. Not gonna make any bakers happy, but I love it. Everyone knows that for my birthday I want this and that they need to go easy on their slices - I get kinda territorial

Add in Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla ice cream and I completely go into a trance.

Hawaiian Princess Cake: Our delicious coconut cake with a wickedly rich filling of coconut and pineapple, covered with a cream cheese frosting.

I like some heft to my cake.

chocolate chocolate chocolate.  And then a little more chocolate please.  Although for my birthday I would always ask for a no bake cherry cheesecake.  Probably cause my mom made chocolate cake often enough that it was normal for me.  And no box cake please

Cheeeeesecake-no-crust for the gluten free peeps! And not the "fridge" no-bake stuff. Baked in an oven with some sort of fruit on top.

"Real" cake does not even sound good to me, even though I've snuck my fair share of bites over the years. Please don't kick me out.

Actually I prefer cupcakes. My favorite is Chocolate (out of the box is OK) with the frosting made from the recipe on the back of a box of Hershey's Extra Special Dark Cocoa Powder. Insane. I used to make them for Halloween because the frosting is so dark it looks black.

But my second fave is angel food with whipped cream frosting...Yanti, my mom made this for an early birthday of mine too, and I'll never forget it. Delish.

The last time I made cake, it was to make "cake pops." You bake the cake, then crumble it and mix it with a can of frosting, then make little balls and put them in the freezer. THEN you cover them with white chocolate or chocolate or candy coating and decorate them. It's ridiculous. I had a white chocolate melting malfunction and put the un-coated balls in the freezer until I could get to them again. Except that when I went back I found out my husband had eaten about half of them!!! They were pretty good though.

I came on to make a silly comment about the band "cake" but I am MOP at best at THAT endeavor.

That's all I got on cake.

Yes, please.

I've made quite a few yummy cakes...and I've had quite a few yummy cakes too.

I made a carrot cake a few years ago - from scratch - for my mom, and it has become a tradition.  She even flew out here (2K miles) to have it this past March :-D (ETA:  Also make the cream cheese frosting and usually color it...usually a mint/pastel green)

But I do always enjoy an angel food cake.  Maybe if I could have an angel food cake, layered with carrot cake, chocolate cake and a good vanilla cake...

I like most icings...from the can...buttercream, whipped icing...if it has sugar, than more than likely I will like it.  (Except for cherry flavored...)

In 2010, my mom made me something along the lines of "The Best Chocolate Cake in the World".  Chocolate cake, you poke holes and pour evaporated milk into it...

Then again...someone around here does call me Cake Lady...although I haven't been making much cake lately :-(  I will eat it if I make it :-( :-(

Wright's Gourmet House, 1200 S Dale Mabry. Enjoy!

The cake weighs about 4 or 5 lbs. Or so it seems.
