Close between going under 3 hours at Boston in April and attempting to qualify for the 70.3 World Champs, but I'll give the edge to going under 3 hours at Boston. So far, training is going real well!

I have recently started tracking my calorie intake, I find that really keeps me in check with what I am eating.

I am working out 6 days a week.

Other then that, I don't really have a plan.  I figure between watching what I eat, and training for triathlons/road races, the rest will take care of itself.

 Any tips/ideas?

1)  Drop final 20 lbs

2)  Get my sprint time < 1:20; Oly < 3:00  (run is the challenge here)

I am 12 days post-op of a patellar debridement, so seeing as this is will take about 6 months of physical therapy to heal completely, my goal is simply to be playing soccer again this fall and to run a half-marathon this October or November.  I just want my knee to be healed up safely and feel like it did pre-injury.

My career goal for the year is to pass the Oregon Bar Exam in July and get an attorney position in Portland.

These goals combined make for an interesting year!

I would love to compete in a 140.6 somewhere, but the cost of the race and a having a daughter in college that is costing me a pretty good chunk of money, so im sticking to oly's and hopefully a HIM. we will see. Oh and i'm signed up for a 50K cross country that i love to do every year.

Well, I already decided that moving up to HIM this year would be too time consuming given my family obligations so my goal is to make some significant improvements at the Oly distance.  My last Oly race in August saw me coming in just about exactly at MOP overall.  I'm well below average in the swim, a bit above average on the bike and farther above average in the run with hopefully some more room to improve there.

In addition to doing what I have to do training-wise to improve in all 3, I want to lose the necessary weight to really take a step up on the bike and run.  I"ve hovered around 200 lbs for many years, mostly due to a workout regimen that involved more weight lifting than anything else. I somehow shot up to 206 last January (several of the pounds definitely unwanted) but was able to get down to 193 by my August race, mostly just from training rather than any dietary changes.  Unfortunately I've gained some of it back since then when I took a bit of break from biking and swimming (but continued running and lifting).  I want to try to get down around 190 (or maybe even slightly lower) and have some low hanging fruit in dietary changes (namely eliminating snacking and alcohol) I think I can make to aid in that.

Also I want to get more of my workouts done in the morning since I"m often finding I don't have the energy for a quality workout come evening now.  Doing that will require a more consistent effort to get to bed at an earlier hour.

I'd like to hit my goal weight.  I was really close this year but its this last 20 lbs that I just can't get rid of.  Also go sub 6 hrs in a HIM, and beat all my first year times since I'll be doing most of the same races this year.

a 70.3, or what ever one wishes to call it.    Was going to do it last year but a bout with skin cancer got in the way.    It's not in the way now.

Close second is to drop the final 8lbs and make it an even 100.  Which is really 3-8lbs more than I think I need to lose...but it'll be an even 100!

Awesome.  I think you've figured out the biggest trick - counting calories.  That and working out.  I guess I can add the suggestion to not be so focused on not missing a single workout that you get yourself injured.  No workout is worth being off on injury...just be patient but unrelenting.  Get in the gym.  Oh, and sleep!  Nothing will make me feel insatiably hungry and destroy my willpower and common sense like not getting enough sleep.  Good luck!

Complete a 24 hour mountain bike race in the solo division.  I will be happy with a MOP finish.

The last time I tried this event, I bailed at about hour 17 with what I found out later was kidney stones.
