Pre-race routine:

I stood around trying to stay warm. Stretched a little and drank a bottle of water. Also had a strawberry gel.
Event warmup:

Same as above.
Run
  • 38m 31s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 12m 23s  min/mile
What would you do differently?:

Need to run more. Work on cadence. Stop thinking about how far I have gone/how far is left.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked arund for about a minute and went back out on the course to find my wife. Walked back in with her.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of training.

Event comments:

I give these ratings because this was an informal run/race and was a limited field. There was water and coffee and doughnuts at the end. I don't know that you really need a drink station on a 5K in January, but it was free and was more than I expected. The Davidson Area Running Team representatives did a great job. I would run this again at twice the price.
