Xmas. 219 lbs Jan 26 211.6 lbs Not huge gain but in the right direction. Considering I didn't eat well Tuesday and Wed because I was on the road for work and made bad choices, I am happy.
A win is a win, good job!
Thanks I agree. Looks like a lot of people heading in the right direction. Way to go group keep it up. |

Extreme Veteran 1106 , Connecticut | Subject: RE: Team Skinny: Jan 2012- Happy New You! Hi all, Let me know if it's too late to jump in. Not new to BT, but have been gone over a year now. I've done some sprint tri's to lose weight - didn't lose weight - was a slow, fat "athlete". That's now four years late I'm down ten or so pounds but want to be consistent and not go up and down. I'm 52 and the goal of an Ironman at 50 is past. What was I thinking, I dragged my through the sprints at 48 years old. I've cleaned up my eating and have made a commitment to working out. Just on treadmill and stationary bike, but will be lean and mean by April 1 when I will start official tri training. Today - 163 goal - 140 by April 1. MuscleMomma I've got to get a new pic for me - the sweet little boy hugging me after my sprint tri is four years older, now 8" taller than me and a football star. I agree. It is a long slow battle. I used to weigh 279lbs and now at the 211 mark with an all time low of 207... This year I go under 200.. it can be done.
Success is getting back up wiping off your scraped knees if you fall down and going at it again. The road isn't as long as the one I took to get to the weight I was. |

I have been active on a P90X forum, but recently modified my program to include more running to build base for the summer. I feel guilty continuing on the P90X as it almost feels like I am cheating on the program as I am not following it in the "pure" form. I am, instead, planning to to continue with P90X lifting sessions MWF with medium run on Tues, short run on Thurs, and Long run on Sat. Plan to add in biking soon, but running is weak sport. About me; did number of triathlons from 2004-2009, but none since. Competed at 250=270# during those years. I have done some running and biking since, but struggled to get consistent program going. Starting weight: 210.2 Goal weight: 190 January goal: 206 If I consistently lose a pound per week I will reach my goal and do it in a sustainable way. The goal is to lose weight AND keep it off! Lets do this! 1/11: 209.2 well I reached my lbs a week goal but I really need to work on my eating habbits. too much snacking and drinking beer. Hopefully I can get another lbs this week. 1/18: 208.4 Barely off of my 1 lb per week which is close enough for me! Any weight loss is good weight loss. I did have a great swim workout this morning so I am pumped about that. I am also one of those that weighs daily because it keeps me motivated. I have noticed a trend that my "lightest day" is Thursday. My heaviest is Tuesday. I attribute Tuesday to having Monday off from workouts and your body tends to load up and then adjusts itself when you get back to your normal schedule! Everyone keep it up! 1/25: 206.6 I made up for not quit getting a full lbs last week by getting 1.5 lbs this week. If I keep it up I should be down below 206 next week which is what the goal was from the beginning! I have a wedding to go to this weekend so hopefully I don't drink/eat too much there. 1/31: 205.4 I beat my goal for the month! The good thing is that usually Tuesday I weigh in a couple more pounds heavier than on Wednesday. This is due to Monday being my day off and my body carb loading and then readjusting. Plus I am really getting in the groove of training now. Starting my half marathon training and ran 6 miles Saturday and 4 today. Plus keeping up with swimming and biking in between. February goal is to be 199.8! That is a little more than the 1 pound a week I have been going for but I think I can do it. |

Member 42 Tuscaloosa, AL | Subject: RE: Team Skinny: Jan 2012- Happy New You! Started out at the begining of the month around 217, now I'm floating around 214. Not as great a weight loss as others, but then, I'm not others, I'm me, and I'm absolutely happy about the month. My commitment to exercise was perfect -- didn't miss one planned workout. Hope I can keep this going. One happy point -- I've been working on upper body strength (for the first time ever) in the gym, and for the first time in a looooooooong time I can get out of the pool without looking like a walrus flopping on a rock ledge. February, bring it on. |

Subject: RE: Team Skinny: Jan 2012- Happy New You! ChrisM - 2012-01-02 12:29 PM In. January goal is sub 205 1/1/12 - 214.8 1/31/12 - 215 Well, cr@p. Goal was 205, got down to 209 a couple weeks ago, then travelling for work and losing focus, I just went off the rails a bit..... guess this month is a wash. The overall trend is still good, down from September at 234, one blip on the radar does not blow up the whole effort (trying to convince myself of this). So I have to reset that 205 as a January goal and refocus some efforts. |
