Extreme Veteran 402 Bartlett, TN | Subject: RE: 2012 Goals Andrew, big goals this year, good luck. I haven't put all of my training and volume goals down yet. Working on creating my ATP now. I will say my "A" race will be my first IM at IMFL. I will also stop procrastinating and finish up my testing and certifications for the USAT L1 coaching clinic I took in June. What does expanding your business look like for the year? |

Extreme Veteran 844 | Subject: RE: 2012 Goals not 100% sure on the goals yet, but IMFL is my first full so that will be my focus. Would like to match the 2 podiums that I had last year however bump one position to 1st vs 2nd in AG (got a 2nd and 3rd this year). Different AG for me this year (bumped from 35-39 to 40-44..ugh, i still don't like the way that sounds).. Would like to go sub 2:40 on an OLY, sub 5:20 at 70.3 Augusta and a 5:3x at any other non point to point swim 70.3. Need to step up my swim game this year, lacked on it last year although my bike/run would make up for it.. overall trying for more quality vs. quantity this year on races.. |

I think you can pretty easily make those goals. Do they even stretch you? Your run/bike miles are pretty low for a guy of your speed. Do these numbers reflect an increase for you over 2011? I have a time goal for an oly myself. Obviously the course can make a big difference. What are some of the fastest courses you are aware of?

Extreme Veteran 646 | Subject: RE: 2012 Goals I don't post much, but writing my goals should help me stay on track: 1.Pull a sub-5 hour half iron (current pr is 5:15). Haven't decided on race(s) yet for this but the GA Rock and Roll Half and B2B are the most likely candidates. 2. Continue a strength training program throughout the year. 3. Get me arse up and go to master's swim at least twice a week from Feb-August. 4. Complete 2 xterra triathlons. 5. Have fun with all of this. |

Veteran 325 | Subject: RE: 2012 Goals I'm done as of June 30th (wife is due in late July with baby#2), so these are compressed into 6 months: 1. Win at lease one race. I've won at least once each of the last 5 years and would like to keep the streak going. 2. Train, eat, sleep, and recover like this is my last, best chance to be fast for a while (see note about baby #2 above) 3. Win my age group at the Clemson Sprint In response to the person looking for a fast olympic, I would recommend the Lake Logan Triathlon near Asheville, NC. It's flatter that you would think given its proximity to Asheville and is where I set my PR in 2008. |

The R&R Its a good race but usually very HOT and humid----depending how well you do in the heat it might not be a good race to try to go under 5:00----very few people do go under 5 on that course. (It almost killed me twice)
I don't have any specific goals yet.....will be setting those as soon. Generally, I'd like to go really fast at Rev3 and IM MOO. Jay |

Thanks Jeff! I gotta do what I can to stay a few steps ahead of you this season. I am hoping to mark off the HM in a few weeks. That's the bigger goal. |

New user 5 | Subject: RE: 2012 Goals I am impressed with the specific training and results goals. I've now done 4 tri's and 3 duathlons in the last 20-years. My goals this year: at least 1 Tri or Duathlon per month thru Sept. If I pull that off, I'll have to lay out similar goals to those above! |
