I've been thinking about it.  I've done both the small and tiny, and my understanding is that the courses are very similar to the tall.   But man, Boerne Lake is gonna be cold in March!

True!  I guess I'll have to rent or buy a wet suit if I sign up.

definitely will need a wetsuit.  I was in the lake last year in April and the temps were in the upper 50s.  If you've never ridden in that area before, the roads are pretty rough.  Its a tough bike course too in the beginning of the Hill Country.

Thinking of doing this one too.  I noticed it might be an "open" course with lots of turns, etc.  Anyone know how much traffic there might be?

The course is out in the country, so there typically isn't a ton of traffic.  The most you'll see are some areas where the course is on the frontage road of I-10, and even there the traffic is minimal.  Its way out from city traffic.

My wife and I are signed up for the woodlands marathon, but she broke her toe 2 weeks ago and her long run has been 3 miles since.  I am happy with just running the half just because it will be better for my training since it is the first week of March.  I asked her if she would rather do the relay with me so she can just roll her marathon entry to next year and still run a half in march.  So I may be in for this cold, hilly race.  And this fits perfect for my training.

I did the Tall Texan in its second year.  I hope by now they've worked out the bugs as there were many.
