Pre-race routine:

Easy run to the start from home. Mingled for a while with the crowd inside the auditorium. Went outside 10 minutes prior to start to acclimate to weather.
Event warmup:

2 minutes run at projected race pace (6:10).

Comments:

This was a nice benchmark to note that my speed is returning after the PF injury. This becomes a course PR and is only 20 seconds shy of my current 5k PR for my time in the 40-44 age group. Very pleased.
What would you do differently?:

Not much. The race executed well and I'm pleased.
Post race
Warm down:

A quick cup of soup and a cookie back in the auditorium before running slowly back home.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Ideal conditions for this race. It was warm enough to wear shorts which always helps.

Performance: Good
Mile 1: 6:08 Mile 2: 6:33 Mile 3: 6:04 Final .12: 43sec (5:51 pace)
Course: Second mile is a gradual uphill for the entire split. Tried to find a bit more pace here, but didn't do it. Then a short downhill to start mile 3 before a mostly flat finish. Was pleased with my return to sub 6:10 pace for the final mile.
