Member 52 Stamford | Subject: RE: 2012 Goals Wow Awesome goals ... and very specific. I actually do have all of my races picked out for this year too, I start signing up for them next week!!! This is only my second year in the sport, and all I have to say is this is ADDICTING!!! |

Member 61 | Subject: RE: 2012 Goals My only race goal this year is to run another marathon. Right now I have an inaugural one in Canton, OH (in June) in my sights. I'd like to shoot for sub 4:30. The training program calls for a couple of other races (5k, 10k, HM) so I'll hopefully find some that line up timing wise. I'd also like to go for another sprint tri....the only one I've done is Ellington (last year), so hopefully that'll work out as well. Goal for that one: not blow a tube 1/2 mi from the end of the bike course! |

New user 249 | Subject: RE: 2012 Goals I'm completely new to Tri's. But as of now I'm planning the entire Lake Terramugus Sprint series, going to Rome, NY in July for an Olympic distance and as long as I continue to feel well, probably going to the Rev3 in Maine for a HIM at the end of the season. If the HIM goes well, it'll be off to Florida next fall for a full... Shane |

Regular 103 Connecticut | Subject: RE: 2012 Goals Like RudeDog, go sub 5hrs at Rev3. Break 2:10 at Litchfield Hills Oly Stay under an hour at all of the Lake T races this yr Break 4:45 at FirmMan Sub 3:05 Hartford Marathon.
They way I see it, achieving anyone of those would be a good year for me, 3of 5 would be great, and all 5 would be epic. |

Member 131 Connecticut | Subject: RE: 2012 Goals Wow - Donzy - those are some aggressive goals - good for you. Sub-5 hr at Rev3 is serious! Did you realize they moved Litchfield 2 months earlier to Jun 24 this year? 3 weeks after Rev3 - probably OK for you.... I broke 6 hrs on Rev 3 last year (by less than 1 second!) and am looking to break 5:45 this year. I also want to run my first marathon (probably Hartford), and convince my wife that entering a full Ironman in 2013 doesnt mean the end of any life we have together. I need to do that before IMLP so I can get up there to volunteer this year. Throw in a few Sprints and my summer will be great. Maybe one other longer race, but not sure yet. On the non-racing agenda, I will do a charity century ride and a 10k swim this year as well. CHris

Veteran 268 Northern CT | Subject: RE: 2012 Goals Looks like it will be a great race season to stay close to home. Goals- sub-2 hour HM starting with either Sleepy Hollow 1/2 or Danbury in late March/April, Under 6 at REV3, first time doing Litchfield Hills (so glad they moved the date) & the first year of the Lake T Olympic so just beat my only other Oly PR of 2:53, Get closer to the 1 hour mark at Lake T (PR 1:11) and hopefully REV3 Maine if the summer plans all work out. Finish out with Hartford 1/2 and then another Tough Mudder with my VA friends. |

Member 19 Central CT | Subject: RE: 2012 Goals Don't have really specific goals - mostly workout goals and a stretch goal. Swim - 250,000 yards (stretch 350,000). Gotta make practice about 70 times this year to get 250,000 yards. Get faster. Run - 1,250 miles (stretch 1,500). 1,250 is fairly do-able based on my current/expected training. Get faster. Bike - 2,000 miles (stretch 3,000). Who knows (I haven't been on a bike yet), I had to put something down. I'd like to run more races (Colchester 1/2, Hartford 1/4, New Haven Labor Day, Hartford 1/2 & a few 5Ks) Will compete in at least one sprint and one HIM.

209 | Subject: RE: 2012 Goals Finish Rev3 Quassy Oly and not feel dead. (I will finish, will I be happy is the question) Beat someones bike split on a P5 in race. (Jealous because I can't afford one) Under 20 minutes in a 5K. (Dreaming) Over 20 mph on a bike split. (Possible close along time ago) Have fun and meet some new people and possible have a beer with them after the race. (Most Important) |

Veteran 208 Canton, CT | Subject: RE: 2012 Goals Half Mary in Danbury, Rev 3 Quassy, Litchfield Oly, and IMLP. That's gets me through till August and drift towards recovery and rest from 6 days a week of training since Christmas. But I'm sure there will be some other races that may pop up. Good luck to everyone this year - unless you're in my AG and in front of me! Edited by Major BC 2012-03-05 9:29 PM |

Member 52 Stamford | Subject: RE: 2012 Goals Well I'm already off to a sorry start this year!! I couldnt' compete in my first race for the year due to this rib injury that re-occurred a few weeks ago. Now I'm just trying to let it heal and I'll hopefully be able to pick up the rest of my "goal" list! |

Member 131 Connecticut | Subject: RE: 2012 Goals That stinks - let it heal and come back strong!! My "A" race went out the window - Rev3 HIM is same day as my son's confirmation - had to switch to the Olympic. FOr my new "A", I signed up for Patriot HIM in Massachusetts (I have heard its much flatter too!). I PR'd my first race of the year by 6 minutes - last weekend Half Marathon in Westfield, MA in 1:33. Hopefully a good omen for the season. Chris |

We also do a BT GTG the night before at a local restaurant for the Patriot race. |

Member 13 | Subject: RE: 2012 Goals My goals are not as big and impressive as most listed here, but here goes: The Iron Horse HM Simsbury, CT 6/3 The Niantic Bay Sprint Tri Niantic, CT 8/5 Title 9 Women's Sprint Tri Hopkinton, MA (beat last year's time & don't get a rear flat at mile 5 of the bike leg!) 9/9 Surftown HM Westerly, RI 9/16 All Women & One Lucky Guy HM in West Newburyport, MA (beat last year's time) 11/4 The Title 9 and the Surftown are close, I will have to gauge it as I get closer. My work schedle has changed to evenings, so my hopes of using Lake T, Winding Trails or Cedar Lake to test how I am progressing seem to have gone out the window. |
